Wine Tag with Chocolate Pocket

On Thanksgiving morning, while in rural Louisiana, our sweet Kerry Blue Terrier, Keelan, found poison in my in-laws garage. Luckily, a friend of mine who is a Veterinarian had mentioned to me that Hydrogen Peroxide was a handy thing to have on hand when something dangerous has been ingested. A quick call to her to confirm dosage and our pup is doing fine. Knowing her favorite wine and love of chocolate, tonight’s project is a gift for her. Enjoy!

This design was CASEd from a German Demonstrator, Connie Ffister, so the measurements are Metric instead of Imperial (US Standard). I’m so glad that our new Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer has Centimeters included so I didn’t have to do conversions!

  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock: 11.5 x 27 cm
  • Pumpkin Pie Cardstock: 12.5 x 7 cm and 5 x 7 cm
  • Pumpkin Pie DSP: 12 x 6.5 cm; 4.5 x 6.5 cm and 5 x 5 cm
  • Crushed Curry Cardstock: 6.5 x 4 1/2 cm (wanted just a sliver)
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock: 6.5 x 4 cm and 6 x 4.5 cm

  • With short side at the top score at 1 cm and 2 cm from the left and from the right (each side).
  • With long side at the top, score at 5.5 cm and 6.5 cm. Rotate paper 180 degrees and score at 7.5 cm.
  • Starting on the short edge of the end with the 7.5 cm section, cut up the second scoreline to the 6.5 cm score line and remove the 2 cm strip. Repeat on the other side.
  • Apply Tear & Tape to the outer edge. Note: there is no need to trim the top of the outer edges as shown here. I have changed the way the box is glued together in the instructions for cleaner lines. The inside panel will hide these edges.
  • Use the Bone Folder to burnish the score lines.
  • I used the Stitched Shapes 1-3/8″ Circle to cut out the circle in the top section. And it along with the 1-5/8″ Circle to cut out the DSP embellishment, adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Apply the smaller pieces of cardstock and DSP together and to the panel shown below with Liquid Adhesive.
  • Remove the Tear & Tape release paper. Fold the tabs up and in to make the candy box. Carefully line up the bottom and side edges so there are no gaps. Press on the inside with the Bone Folder.
  • Now, adhere the larger pieces of cardstock and DSP together. Then apply Liquid Adhesive to the back and insert into the pocket so that it covers the inside tabs. (Learning curve, lol). Press with the Bone Folder from the inside.

Note: The original instructions had the side tabs adhered on the back of the wine tag. I decided to adhere them to the inside for a cleaner look, but had already adhered the larger panels (shown above, right) so that it did not hid the tabs from view on the inside which is why I trimmed them at the diagonal to be less noticeable when the candy is removed.

  • The top corners were rounded with the Detailed Trio Punch for a softer look.
  • The images are from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set inked in Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry Ink. The flowers and leaves are stamped in First Generation and Second Generation inkings for added dimension.
  • I added a Very Vanilla 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle bow with a Mini Glue Dot to the top just under the DSP circle.
  • The candy pocket holds four (4) Merci European Chocolates.
