Stamp Dabbles

Don’t tell my husband, but I’m in love with this stamp set. These bees are so stinkin’ cute! Seriously, I am impressed with the detail in the bee’s wings. The die cuts are perfect and in duplicate. The papers from the Sale-A-Bration are divine. Not only do they have gold foil, but they are black and white…so classic. Enjoy.

I began with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock scored at 2 3/4″ on each end. I adhered two 2 pieces of 2 1/2″ x 4″ Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper (from Sale-A-Bration, free with $50 order) with Snail Adhesive.

Next I lined up the Die Cut image of the bee hive on the front of the card. I used the lines on my cutting mat and a ruler to ensure it was straight and held it in place with washi tape. Working on one side at a time, open the flaps and run through the Big Shot.

Next I used washi tape to line up the stamp in the cut out and placed it on the Stamparatus so that when the door was closed the stamp would be in the opening appropriately.

I inked/stamped the hive twice with the Momento Black ink to get the intensity I wanted.

I stamped the a large bee, two small bees and two flower stems in Momento Black on a scrap strip of Whisper White Cardstock. I colored the flowers, bee bodies and the lines in the hive with Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin’ Blends. There is a little Old Olive Light on a couple of the open leaves on the flower stems. You could stamp the inside images (2 small bees and a flower) directly on the card, but I wanted to have a little extra pop without dimensional on the inside of the card. I used Liquid Adhesive for the flower and Mini Glue Dots for the bees.

On the outside I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the big bee and the flower stem. I couldn’t resist adding Wink of Stella to the bee wings.
