Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Hello Notecard

This card features the Forever Fern bundle from the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It also incorporates the Layering Circles Dies and a sentiment from the To A Wild Rose stamp set. Enjoy!

The Paper

  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: a 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and a 1 1/2″ scallop circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Garden Green Cardstock:  a 4″ x 5 1/4″ and a 1 3/4″ scallop circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: a 3 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ panel (front), a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel (inside) and a 1 3/8″ smooth circle from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Vellum Cardstock: a large fern leaf die cut from the Forever Flourishing Dies.

The Creating

  • Stamp the leaf fronds on the Whisper White front panel with Pretty Peacock and Garden Green Inks with the stamps in the center of the card.
  • Stamp the leaf frond on the Whisper White inside panel and on the envelope in Garden Green.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White smooth circle die cut in Pretty Peacock. (There is a Hello in the Forever Fern stamp set that can be used, but I like the way this one filled the circle instead of being in a straight line. It’s nice to have options 😉
  • Adhere the Garden Green panel to the card front and the stamped front panel to it. Adhere the Whisper White inside panel.
  • Snip the stamps away from the stem on the Vellum fern die cut. Separate any touching leaves and trim where needed. Dry fit these on the card front so that the stems are in the center. Adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Adhere the Garden Green circle in the center over the stems.
  • Adhere the white circle to the Pretty Peacock circle and pop onto the green one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Blossoms in Bloom Card for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to the Inkin’ Krew Monthly Blog Hop! This month the Inkin’ Krew team is creating “Birthday” themed cards and I am featuring the Blossoms in Bloom bundle and the Many Mates stamp set from the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It also showcases the new 2020-22 In Color products. Enjoy!

The Paper

  • Bumblebee Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″, 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ for the large floral outline die from Many Layered Blossoms Dies.
  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock:  4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Whisper White Cardstock: two 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ panels (front & inside) and a scrap for the sentiment (3/8″ x 2 5/16″)
  • Vellum Cardstock: 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ for a large floral outline die from Many Layered Blossoms Dies.

Creating the Card Front

  • Adhere the Whisper White panel to the card front and the Misty Moonlight panel on top.
  • Cut the large floral outline die from Many Layered Blossoms Dies from Vellum Cardstock using your die cutting machine. Adhere it to the Misty Moonlight layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Tip: choose locations where the outline is thickest such as the leaf clusters and the floral centers.
  • Stamp the large blossom image from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set with VersaMark Ink onto Bumblebee Cardstock (at the time of the making the Bumblebee Ink was not yet available to order, but it is now and you could use it instead). Tip: for large stamps I like to use my Stamparatus. If a spot does not get enough even pressure to stamp clearly all you have to do is close the door and press where needed. It lines up perfectly and works great!
  • Line up the large floral outline die from Many Layered Blossoms Dies over the stamped image and die cut with your die cutting machine. Tip: I use washi tape to secure the die in place so that it doesn’t scoot as I apply it to the plates. Carefully remove the die, but leave the cut pieces in their place on your cutting plate. (Your Take Your Pick tool may come in handy here). This will serve as your pattern to layer your pieces. Tip: Australian Demonstrator, Kylie Bertucci, has a video on Paper Piecing using Press n Seal that you can view here. I tried it and found I stuck to the Press n Seal more than the paper did which led to rearrangement of my cut pieces. My talented team member, Mary Deatherage at Stamps-N-Lingers, had success with it though and you can view here video here. It may work great for you.
  • Do a dry fit to place the flower petals in place over the vellum outline die cut. Decide which petals you would like to be popped and apply Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up. Apply the others with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Save the outline portion for the inside of the card.
  • Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and apply it to a strip of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon with Mini Glue Dots. Pop it on the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots in Bumblebee.
So worth it for the added dimension! You can almost see them flutter in the breeze.

Decorating the Inside and Envelope

  • Stamp your sentiment on the inside Whisper White panel with Misty Moonlight Ink (this came early in the Paper Pumpkin Kit, yay!)
  • Adhere the left over Bumblebee outline floral die cut to the inside of the card and trim anything hanging over with Paper Snips.
  • Stamp a portion of the floral stamp on the envelope and add the floral centers. (I had to use Crushed Curry which is a little brighter and not as golden, but I recommend you use Bumblebee now that it’s available).

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the team’s projects! Click on Next Blog to visit Amy Koenders or Previous Blog for Terry Lynn Bright.

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern and Stitched Rectangle Hello Card

This card is made with the Forever Fern Stamp Set from the Forever Greenery Suite of products in the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. It is a great beginner card and can be simplified if you aren’t into die cutting yet. It would also be a great card to replicate in number using the stamparatus. I listed links below for the items I used for this card and at the end the link for the suite so you could see the other things included.

The Paper Cuts

  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Old Olive Cardstock: Largest Stitched Rectangle Die (Tip: To save cardstock and weight for postage I cut out a smaller Stitched Rectangle Die from the center to use in another project. No one will every know!)
  • Whisper White Cardstock: Two of the Largest Stitched Rectangle Die (Keep the center in these!).

The Creating

  • Chose 4 stamps from the set and decided which 2 will be Pretty Peacock and which 2 will be Pear Pizzazz.
  • Then stamp a First Generation Image (straight from the ink pad) in one location on a Whisper White Panel and then rotated the panel 1/3 of the way around and stamp a Second Generation Image (Stamping again without re-inking, using the left over ink on the stamp. Tip: be sure to stamp a little less of the image than the First Generation so that you don’t see a dark line where the ink from the first image was off the edge of the card. Or, you can just reink and stamp off on a scrap sheet before going to the card.)
  • Then I filled in with the mirror image leaves from the set where it made sense, if needed.
  • Add images and sentiment to the inside panel and envelope.
  • Adhere the panels to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Add the Hello sentiment in Tuxedo Black Ink (I did this at the end to get have it straight after I glued the panels at the angles).

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the card. Links for items used to make this card are listed below or you can browse for other supplies at my Stampin’ Up! shop in the side bar. Use the May Host Code for free gifts from me (if your order is $150 or more you don’t want to use it so that you get Hostess Rewards). See my Rewards Page for full details.

Stampin’ Up! World of Good Memories & More Thank You Card

This is a simple, masculine card made with the World of Good Memories & More Card Pack in the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. The pack contains Backgrounds, Titles, Stickers and Journaling cards for Scrapbooking, but it also lends itself to easy and quick cards. Customer can order June 3 or you can order now as a demonstrator and save 20%!

The Paper Cuts

  • World of Good Memories and More Map Backgrounds: A Black one and a Crumb Cake one trimmed down to 5 1/4″ x 4″. The Expression trimmed down to 3″ x 3″ and a World Sticker.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″, a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ panel and a 1 3/4″ Layered Circles smooth edge die.
  • Gold (or Brass) Foil Sheet: 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ panel. I used Gold because it is so close you can’t tell and it played up the Crumb Cake well.

The Creating

  • Stick the World sticker on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and cut with the Layered Circles Die (or a punch would work, too).
  • Stamp the Crumb Cake map panel with your sentiment with Tuxedo Black Ink. I used one from Peaceful Moments. If you need a sentiment set, I highly recommend this one. I use it all the time.
  • Adhere the Black map panel to the card front and the Crumb Cake map panel to the inside.
  • Adhere the Expression to the Whisper White panel with Snail Adhesive and then onto the Gold Foil panel.
  • Dry fit the sentiment tag and the world for placement. Adhere the tag with Snail and pop the world with Dimensionals.

This card used the Jar of Flowers and Many Mates stamp sets which will be available for customers to order on June 3rd. It also used the new 2020-2022 In Color Misty Moonlight Cardstock and 6×6 DSP. The inspiration for the design is on page 10 of the catalog. Enjoy!

The Paper Cuts

  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″ and a 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″ panel.
  • 2020-2022 In Color DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and a 3/4″ x 5″ strip
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 3 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Shaded Spruce Cardstock: 2 1/8″ x 5/8″ scrap

The Creating

  • Adhere te DSP panel to the card front.
  • Stamp the floral image in Tuxedo Black on the Whisper White 3 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ panel. Also stamp it on a PostIt Note catching the sticky edge at the bottom. Trim around the bottom edge on the black stamped line. This will be your mask. It will make the flowers look like they are inside the jar instead of the jar on top of the flowers when you stamp the jar 😉
  • Stamp the jar in Basic Gray Ink with the mask in place as shown above. (I first tried Tuxedo Black, but it came out very dark and I wanted it to be lighter since it is glass).
  • Add the flower stem image with Basic Gray Ink with the mask still in place. Now you can remove it! Taadaa!
  • Color the flower and stems with Stampin’ Blends Combos: Light Seaside Spray, Flirty Flamingo and Call Me Clover. I also used Light Smoky Slate in layers with Light Call Me Clover and Light Seaside Spray for the sprig that looks like Eucalyptus. Don’t be afraid to mix colors 🙂
  • Add Wink of Stella to the reflection marks on the jar.
  • Adhere the colored floral panel to the Misty Moonlight panel.
  • Tie a piece of the Flowers for Every Season Twine around the two panels and tie in a bow. I knotted the end to ensure the three layers didn’t untwist (as in the catalog). Adhere to the DSP on the card front.
  • Rub the Shaded Spruce scrap with the Embossing Buddy to prevent static. Stamp with the sentiment in VersaMark, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.
  • Adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Trim if necessary.
  • Add 3 Flowers for Every Season Gems with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the inside panel with Misty Moonlight Ink and adhere to the inside of the cards. Adhere the DSP strip to the bottom edge.

Stampin’ Up! To A Wild Rose Friendship Card

I used the To A Wild Rose Bundle for this card. It is a DistINKtive stamp set which stamps photo-realistic style images due to a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step. And, this set is also has Two-Step Stamps that layer the color on with a stamp instead of needed to color with markers or another medium. Note: if you like these images, you may wish to purchase by June 2nd to take advantage of the 10% discount. June 3rd the stamp set and the dies will have to be purchased separately at regular price. Links to purchase are below the card instructions.

The Paper Cuts

  • Sahara Sand Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″ and a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ panel.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: Tag from Wild Rose Dies, 3 roses and 3 leaf sets from To A Wild Rose stamp set (I used less than a half sheet)

The Creating

  • Use the Subtle Embossing Folder to add texture to the Sahara Sand panel. Tip: Spritz with water for a more defined impression. Adhere to card front.
  • Stamp 3 rose outlines, 3 set of leaves outlines in Tuxedo Black Ink.
  • With Real Red Ink, stamp solid fill rose stamps in the outlines. I used the Stamparatus because I find it comforting to ensure my images line up correctly, but it’s not a necessity. Add the detail rose stamp with the real red to two of the roses. On one “feature” rose (which will be. the one on top) stamp the detail rose in Cherry Cobbler Ink. Stamp the rose centers with Cherry Cobbler Ink.
  • With Pear Pizzazz Ink stamp the solid leaf fill. Use Old Olive Ink to add the detailed fill.
  • Die Cut the stamped images and the label.
  • Stamp the sentiments on the tag and the inside of the card.
  • Add a Real Red rose to the inside and two on the envelope.
  • Dry fit the die cuts on the card front and use Liquid Glue to adhere them in place, popping the top “feature” rose with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add Wink of Stella to the centers and 3 Red Rhinestones.
