Three Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Cards

Yesterday, Amy’s Inkin’ Krew had a Team Meeting that included virtual stamping together! There were three card presenters/instructors (listed in order presented): Sue Prather, Amy Koenders and Mary Deatherage. They are so talented! What a special treat to get to stamp with and learn from them. I’ve included pictures of the cards I made and have indicated which is who’s design.

Being a part of a stamping team and sharing ideas is just one of the many perks of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. Others include:

  • You get to purchase your Stampin’ Up! supplies at a discount (I call this supporting my habit, lol)
  • You make a commission on Stampin’ Up! products purchased from you (just by sharing what you enjoy doing with others).
  • You get to run your hobby or business the way you want and when you want and at a level your comfortable with.

I encourage you to consider giving it a try. If you find it’s not for you, it’s okay, there’s no loss. The $99 Starter Kit is $125 worth of products which you keep. And, there could be no better time than June because there is additional FREE product in the kit —you also select any stamp/tool bundle from the new 2020–2021 Annual Catalog. I’d love to talk to you about it. and answer your questions. Feel free to drop me a line at stampdabbles@gmail.com.

Enjoy the cards! I’ve linked the supplies we used for all below.

Sue Prather at StampWithSuePrather brought us this card originally designed by Heidi Collins at On Y Go! Stamping.

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Hello Notecard

This card features the Forever Fern bundle from the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It also incorporates the Layering Circles Dies and a sentiment from the To A Wild Rose stamp set. Enjoy!

The Paper

  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: a 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and a 1 1/2″ scallop circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Garden Green Cardstock:  a 4″ x 5 1/4″ and a 1 3/4″ scallop circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: a 3 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ panel (front), a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel (inside) and a 1 3/8″ smooth circle from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Vellum Cardstock: a large fern leaf die cut from the Forever Flourishing Dies.

The Creating

  • Stamp the leaf fronds on the Whisper White front panel with Pretty Peacock and Garden Green Inks with the stamps in the center of the card.
  • Stamp the leaf frond on the Whisper White inside panel and on the envelope in Garden Green.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White smooth circle die cut in Pretty Peacock. (There is a Hello in the Forever Fern stamp set that can be used, but I like the way this one filled the circle instead of being in a straight line. It’s nice to have options 😉
  • Adhere the Garden Green panel to the card front and the stamped front panel to it. Adhere the Whisper White inside panel.
  • Snip the stamps away from the stem on the Vellum fern die cut. Separate any touching leaves and trim where needed. Dry fit these on the card front so that the stems are in the center. Adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Adhere the Garden Green circle in the center over the stems.
  • Adhere the white circle to the Pretty Peacock circle and pop onto the green one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Blossoms in Bloom Card for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to the Inkin’ Krew Monthly Blog Hop! This month the Inkin’ Krew team is creating “Birthday” themed cards and I am featuring the Blossoms in Bloom bundle and the Many Mates stamp set from the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It also showcases the new 2020-22 In Color products. Enjoy!

The Paper

  • Bumblebee Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″, 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ for the large floral outline die from Many Layered Blossoms Dies.
  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock:  4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Whisper White Cardstock: two 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ panels (front & inside) and a scrap for the sentiment (3/8″ x 2 5/16″)
  • Vellum Cardstock: 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ for a large floral outline die from Many Layered Blossoms Dies.

Creating the Card Front

  • Adhere the Whisper White panel to the card front and the Misty Moonlight panel on top.
  • Cut the large floral outline die from Many Layered Blossoms Dies from Vellum Cardstock using your die cutting machine. Adhere it to the Misty Moonlight layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Tip: choose locations where the outline is thickest such as the leaf clusters and the floral centers.
  • Stamp the large blossom image from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set with VersaMark Ink onto Bumblebee Cardstock (at the time of the making the Bumblebee Ink was not yet available to order, but it is now and you could use it instead). Tip: for large stamps I like to use my Stamparatus. If a spot does not get enough even pressure to stamp clearly all you have to do is close the door and press where needed. It lines up perfectly and works great!
  • Line up the large floral outline die from Many Layered Blossoms Dies over the stamped image and die cut with your die cutting machine. Tip: I use washi tape to secure the die in place so that it doesn’t scoot as I apply it to the plates. Carefully remove the die, but leave the cut pieces in their place on your cutting plate. (Your Take Your Pick tool may come in handy here). This will serve as your pattern to layer your pieces. Tip: Australian Demonstrator, Kylie Bertucci, has a video on Paper Piecing using Press n Seal that you can view here. I tried it and found I stuck to the Press n Seal more than the paper did which led to rearrangement of my cut pieces. My talented team member, Mary Deatherage at Stamps-N-Lingers, had success with it though and you can view here video here. It may work great for you.
  • Do a dry fit to place the flower petals in place over the vellum outline die cut. Decide which petals you would like to be popped and apply Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up. Apply the others with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Save the outline portion for the inside of the card.
  • Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and apply it to a strip of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon with Mini Glue Dots. Pop it on the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots in Bumblebee.
So worth it for the added dimension! You can almost see them flutter in the breeze.

Decorating the Inside and Envelope

  • Stamp your sentiment on the inside Whisper White panel with Misty Moonlight Ink (this came early in the Paper Pumpkin Kit, yay!)
  • Adhere the left over Bumblebee outline floral die cut to the inside of the card and trim anything hanging over with Paper Snips.
  • Stamp a portion of the floral stamp on the envelope and add the floral centers. (I had to use Crushed Curry which is a little brighter and not as golden, but I recommend you use Bumblebee now that it’s available).

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the team’s projects! Click on Next Blog to visit Amy Koenders or Previous Blog for Terry Lynn Bright.

  • Bumblebee DSP: 1 3/4″ x 1 1/4″, 3/8′ x 5″ and 5 3/4″ x 2 1/4″

  • Stamp the Sentiments from Many Mates Cling Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight Ink on the small Whisper White cardstock and the inside panel. Fill in with Wink of Stella. Pop the front sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere the inside panel with Stampin’ Seal. Adhere the Bumblebee strip on the inside panel. Adhere the decorated panel to the inside of the card.
  • Add three (3) 2020-22 In Color Enamel Dots to the card front.
  • Adhere the remaining Bumblebee DSP to the envelope flap with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and trim with Paper Snips.

Stampin’ Up! Forever Gold DSP and Forever Fern Card

The star of this card is the Forever Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper from the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, page 152. It is so elegant and easy to design with. Enjoy!

The Paper

  • Garden Green Cardstock: 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Forever Greenery Specialty DSP: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ cut centered with the largest Stitched Rectangle Die
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 5″ x 5/8″ and the 3rd smallest smooth circle from the Layering Circles Dies
  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: the 3rd smallest scallop circle from the Layering Circles Dies

That’s done!

The Stamping and Assembly

  • Adhere the Stripe Rectangle Stitched Die to the card front with Mutipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Adhere the Gold Leaf Cut Out to the DSP with Stampin’ Seal (page 162 of the new catalog – Snail will work, too). Apply adhesive to the circle portion of the cut out. That’s all you need.
  • Adhere the Pretty Peacock Scallop Circle to the Gold Leaf Cut Out.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock on the Whisper White Circle and pop it on the Pretty Peacock Scallop Circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add Flowers for Every Season Gems. These are Just Jade from the new In Color Collection that coordinates with the Forever Fern Suite. They have an iridescent shimmer that plays well with Pretty Peacock (but not the camera) and there is a pop of gold on the faceted top that is hard to see in the photograph. Tip: I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive by applying a small drop on the cardstock where I wanted to add the gem and then applying the gem. You can use “balled” mini glue dots, too.

On the Inside

  • Apply the left over remnant (don’t you love using every little bit of your supplies that you can?) from the Stitched Rectangle DSP to the inside of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. It will give you a little wiggle room to move those thin spots in place.
  • Adhere the Whisper White Panel inside.
  • Adhere the Gold Laser Cut Leaf in the corner with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive on the center of the leaves.

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern and Stitched Rectangle Hello Card

This card is made with the Forever Fern Stamp Set from the Forever Greenery Suite of products in the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. It is a great beginner card and can be simplified if you aren’t into die cutting yet. It would also be a great card to replicate in number using the stamparatus. I listed links below for the items I used for this card and at the end the link for the suite so you could see the other things included.

The Paper Cuts

  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Old Olive Cardstock: Largest Stitched Rectangle Die (Tip: To save cardstock and weight for postage I cut out a smaller Stitched Rectangle Die from the center to use in another project. No one will every know!)
  • Whisper White Cardstock: Two of the Largest Stitched Rectangle Die (Keep the center in these!).

The Creating

  • Chose 4 stamps from the set and decided which 2 will be Pretty Peacock and which 2 will be Pear Pizzazz.
  • Then stamp a First Generation Image (straight from the ink pad) in one location on a Whisper White Panel and then rotated the panel 1/3 of the way around and stamp a Second Generation Image (Stamping again without re-inking, using the left over ink on the stamp. Tip: be sure to stamp a little less of the image than the First Generation so that you don’t see a dark line where the ink from the first image was off the edge of the card. Or, you can just reink and stamp off on a scrap sheet before going to the card.)
  • Then I filled in with the mirror image leaves from the set where it made sense, if needed.
  • Add images and sentiment to the inside panel and envelope.
  • Adhere the panels to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Add the Hello sentiment in Tuxedo Black Ink (I did this at the end to get have it straight after I glued the panels at the angles).
