Stampin’ Up! Merriest Moments Christmas Card – Sneak Peek

I used the gorgeous Merriest Moments Bundle from the upcoming August-December 2021 Mini Catalog to make this traditional Christmas card. The bundle includes the Merriest Moments Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder. The “Embossing Folder” is a slight bit deceptive because while there is an embossing folder, there are also 16 fabulous dies! The “hybrid” refers to the fact that they emboss and cut in one fell swoop. This bundle has my heart! And, the Heartwarming Hugs 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper is a returning favorite. Enjoy…

The Paper Cuts

  • Heartwarming Hugs 12×12 Designer Series Paper: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (front panel), 5 1/4″ x 3/8″ (inside strip) and 5 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ (envelope).
  • Real Red Cardstock: 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″ (card base).
  • Garden Green Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ for embossing/die cutting.
  • Basic White Cardstock: 51/4″ x 4″ (inside panel), 3″ x 2 1/4″ (die cutting) and 6″ x 2″ (stamping/die cutting).

The Creating

I placed the the outline die, the stitched rectangle die and the Garden Green panel inside the hybrid embossing folder and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. I saved the green stitched rectangle cut out for another projects and cut one from Basic White to use for this card.

With Real Red Ink I stamped the greeting on the rectangle die cut and 2 red berry images on Basic White Cardstock. With Garden Green Ink I stamped the greeting on the inside panel, 3 medium holly leaves, 2 small holly leaves, a leafy sprig and the pine sprig. I die cut the stamped images with the coordinating dies.

I used Mini Glue Dots to attach the stamped leaves on and underneath the embossed frame. I adheared the inside panel and the DSP strip, the DSP front panel and the embossed panel with the attached die cut pieces to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I popped the rectangle sentiment up with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added the berries to the corners with liquid glue and Mini Dimensionals (I just tucked them under the overhang with my Take Your Pick Tool). I adhered the DSP panel to the envelope and trimmed the excess with the Paper Snips.

Thank you for stopping by. If you have any questions or need a catalog, I’d be very happy to be your Demonstrator.   You can drop me an email at stampdabbles@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you!

Stampin’ Up! Stitched So Sweetly Photo Card

Good evening and Merry Christmas from the Leonards to you! I do hope you have had a lovely day. Tonight I am sharing with you the Christmas card I made for my husband. I decided to feature some of our past Christmas memories that involved others, but still about each other. This Christmas, like many other folks, it’s just the two of us staying home and staying safe and missing in person engagements with friends and family.

To make the card, I used Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies and the Coming Home Designer Series Paper. You don’t need to have all of these to utilize the idea…it’s just what fit my pictures. I think this would also be a great idea for an anniversary card, as well.

I embossed the top Real Red panel with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and topped it with a Trimming the Town DSP banner made with the Banner Triple Punch. I sponged the banner edges with a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede Ink. The sentiment is cut from the Trimming the Town DSP and mounted on the smallest Stitched Rectangles Dies die cut which is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The pictures are cropped with Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Layering Circles Dies, and Stitched Rectangle Dies. The pictures on the front were backed with the same die cut in Old Olive and cut in half. The final touch are All the Trimmings Enamel Embellishments. The sentiment is from the Celebrations Tidings Stamp Set and stamped in Old Olive Ink.

    Stampin’ Up! Curvy Christmas Card

I must confess…I did not order the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle right away. It looked rather intimidating! OH, all the time I missed! It is so easy and fun to create with! For this card, I paired it with the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper which I will miss when the August – December 2020 Mini Catalog closes. Hurry while you can still get it. It’s awesome!

Notice that the full size version of Shaded Spruce Ink is not present in the photo. Ink Spots are one of the perks of the all inclusive Paper Pumpkin Subscriptions. It’s a great help to grow your ink inventory. This one came in the December 2019 Kit. See the link below for details.

    The Paper Cuts

    • Whisper White Cardstock: 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″ for the card base.
    • Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper: 5 1/2″ x 3″

    The Creating

    • Cut the DSP with the dotted slope die from Curvy Dies. Adhere the dotted piece on the lower edge of the card base and the smooth piece on the lower edge of the inside of the card.
    • Use the Stamparatus to line up the tree stamp along the right edge of the card. Stamp with Shaded Spruce Ink. Repeat for the left side. (You’ll need to do in 2 steps to get the curves in line). Also add to the envelope flap.
    • Stamped the stars in Crushed Curry Ink on the card front and inside (mask at the card fold).
    • In Cherry Cobbler Ink, stamp the sentiment on the right side and then the left. Add the sentiment to the inside.
    • Add the 3 small stars in Crushed Curry Ink on the front and inside. Top with Wink of Stella for a little twinkle.
    • Apply 3 stars from the All The Trimmings Embellishments on the card front. So cute!

Stampin’ Up! November 2020 Paper Pumpkin Projects & Alternatives

The November 2020 Paper Pumpkin, Jolly Gingerbread, has been lots of fun to create with! I want to share the projects included as well as a few alternatives.

If you’re not familiar with Paper Pumpkin, it’s an all inclusive kit that you can subscribe to monthly or annually, or anywhere in between. There are links below to view the options…monthly is $22, which is such a deal for all you get! It comes with everything you need to create the projects and varies between cards and gift items. The only thing you need is scissors. In addition to the consumable items, it includes an Ink Spot and an exclusive Stamp Set. This was in the November 2020 – Jolly Gingerbread:

Can you tell which stamps I’ve used the most? I alway say, “Next month, I’ll take the picture before I use them”, but I just can’t wait to dive in! Sorry! Pink and red inks tend to stain, but it doesn’t diminish the use of the stamp.

The November Jolly Gingerbread Kit is designed to make 15 gift card holders. I don’t need quite that many, so I made the nine below. The greetings can be all stamped with the Blushing Bride Ink Spot that is included, but I opted to use coordinating colors, Shaded Spruce and Mint Macaron for some. The directions instruct to pop the back with dimensionals, but since I do not know all of the recipients at this point I chose to adhere them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue for ease of writing the To/From.

With the remaining pieces I made a few alternative projects and I still have pieces left for more creative fun! Following are pictures and a few detail for the mini card, gift box and card that I made. Enjoy!

To make mini cards, all you have to do is cut the side tab away with the paper trimmer. I added the “back” piece to the inside and exchanged the To/From with one of the greetings from the stamp set. in Mint Macaron to match the door and a Mint Macaron peppermint. So cute!

For the full sized card, I used a Cinnamon Cider card base to match the gingerbread house and topped it with a panel of Shaded Spruce embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. I stamped the curly stamp for smoke, outlined with Wink of Stella and added 2 of the heart punch outs from the house windows. I used the Banner Triple Punch to flag the sentiment and added Whisper White Crinkle Ribbon to embellish. On the inside and the envelope I used the Stamparatus to line up the scrolley image.

This box was so much fun! It’s my favorite. I used two of the gift card bases and attached them together with the included Tear n’ Tape. I used grid paper to figure the dimensions below. I didn’t want to have a large amount of Cinnamon Cider showing on the inside so I used a 1/4″ border. If you are going to use regular Tear n’ Tape instead of what is used in the kit, you will need to make this a little wider.

I angled the cuts to minimize the bulk, applied the adhesive to the outside of the box bottom edges (so it wouldn’t show from the outside of the gift box) and formed the gingerbread pieces around it. Then closed the seam.

Stampin’ Up! Warm Hugs and Evergreen Forest Christmas Card

A live Christmas tree is my favorite part of the Christmas Season. It brings me joy from the moment it is inside (and the trauma of getting it in the stand is over). This card is all about the trees, too! Isn’t the Evergreen Forest embossing beautiful? Enjoy!

    The Paper Cuts

    • Real Red Cardstock: 11″ x 4 1/2″ (scored at 5 1/2″) for the card base and a stitched circle die cut from Warm Wraps Dies.
    • Mossy Meadow Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″
    • Pear Pizzazz Cardstock: a small scrap for the tree die cut from Warm Wraps Dies.
    • Whisper White Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the inside and 1 3/4″ square for the die cut label from Warm Wraps Dies.
    • Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper: 5 1/4″ x 1 3/4″ and a 5 1/4″ x 1/2″ strip for the inside.

    The Creating

    • With Mossy Meadow Ink, stamp the round greeting on the Whisper White square and the tree on the Pear Pizzazz scrap. Run them through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with the coordinating dies from Warm Wraps Dies.
    • Place the Mossy Meadow panel into the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder and pass through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. Repeat with the envelope flap.
    • Adhere the DSP to the bottom of the embossed panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Add the Mossy Meadow Diagonal Stripe Ribbon around the panels to hide where they join. Secure on the back with Mini Glue Dots. Repeat with the Real Red Braided Linen Trim just underneath. Adhere the panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Pop the die cut round sentiment and the tree to the red stitched circle die cut with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Apply a Stampin’ Dimensional to the top and bottom of the stitched circle to apply it over the ribbons.

Stampin’ Up! Trimming the Town with Winter Snow Christmas Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! This month the Inkin’ Krew team theme is “Christmas or Happy Holidays”. I hope you have fun looking at all the projects the talented ladies have created. There are links at the bottom to guide you along your way.

During this time of COVID, I believe most of us have realized that it’s the people in our lives that make our time so very merry. I chose this pattern of the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper and the sentiments for this card with that in mind. It’s a simply stamped card with just a little dry embossing with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. Enjoy!

    The Paper Cuts

    • Poppy Parade Cardstock: 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″ for the card base, a 5 1/2″ x 1 1/8″ strip and a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ rectangle.
    • Whisper White Cardstock: two 5 1/4″ x 4″ panels and a 5 1/4″ x7/8″ strip.
    • Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper: 3″ x 3″ rectangle, a 5 1/4″ x 5/8″ strip and 5 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ for the envelope flap.

    The Creating

    • With Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp “So Very Merry” from the Warm Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set on the right end of the Whisper White strip. Stamp “Friends & Family are the Truest Gifts of Christmas” from Wrapped in Christmas Cling Stamp Set centered on one of the Whisper White panels.
    • Place the other Whisper White panel into the Winter Snow Embossing Folder and roll through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
    • With Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere the layers together: the DSP square to the Poppy Parade square, the embossed panel to the card front and the the greeting strip to the Poppy Parade strip to the embossed panel. Adhere the DSP strip to the inside panel to the inside of the card.
    • Pop the rectangle layers on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and add three adhesive backed All the Trimmings Resin Embellishments.
    • Apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the envelope flap, apply the DSP and fussy cut the overhang with Paper Snips.

This card is super easy and would be great for making multiples to send to the people in your life that you may be missing during the holidays. So spread a little cheer and look forward to when we’ll all be together.

Thank you for stopping in and enjoy the rest of the team’s projects. Click Next Blog to visit Lisa Jurich or Previous Blog for Akiko Sudano.

Stampin’ Up! Coming Home Christmas Card

I’m sometimes asked how I come up with my designs. To be honest, I’m not that creative. They are usually inspired by something I’ve seen or, as in this case, Designer Series Paper. This paper is called Trimming the Town and that is exactly what I did…trimmed the town! Enjoy!

    The Paper Cuts

    • Old Olive Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ for the card base.
    • Whisper White Cardstock: the largest Stitched Rectangle Dies die cut and scraps to stamp the wreath and trees.
    • Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper: the largest Stitched Rectangle Dies die cut, a house die cut for the inside and 5 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ for the envelope.
    • Pool Party Cardstock: a 2 3/4″ x 1 1/16″ Stitched Rectangle die cut

    The Creating

    • With Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the sentiments from Wrapped in Christmas Stamp Set on the Pool Party and Whisper White Stitched Rectangle die cuts.
    • Stamp the two trees and wreath on Whisper White scraps and color them with Stampin’ Blends: Old Olive, Soft Suede and Poppy Parade. Use the coordinating Home Together Dies to cut out.
    • With Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere the DSP Stitched Rectangle die cut to the card front, the Whisper White Stitched Rectangle and die cut house to the inside.
    • Pop the Pool Party Stitched Rectangle, wreath and trees up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Add the adhesive backed All the Trimmings Resin Embellishments.
    • Apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the envelope flap, apply DSP and fussy cut with Paper Snips.
