Stampin’ Up! To A Wild Rose Friendship Card

I used the To A Wild Rose Bundle for this card. It is a DistINKtive stamp set which stamps photo-realistic style images due to a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step. And, this set is also has Two-Step Stamps that layer the color on with a stamp instead of needed to color with markers or another medium. Note: if you like these images, you may wish to purchase by June 2nd to take advantage of the 10% discount. June 3rd the stamp set and the dies will have to be purchased separately at regular price. Links to purchase are below the card instructions.

The Paper Cuts

  • Sahara Sand Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″ and a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ panel.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: Tag from Wild Rose Dies, 3 roses and 3 leaf sets from To A Wild Rose stamp set (I used less than a half sheet)

The Creating

  • Use the Subtle Embossing Folder to add texture to the Sahara Sand panel. Tip: Spritz with water for a more defined impression. Adhere to card front.
  • Stamp 3 rose outlines, 3 set of leaves outlines in Tuxedo Black Ink.
  • With Real Red Ink, stamp solid fill rose stamps in the outlines. I used the Stamparatus because I find it comforting to ensure my images line up correctly, but it’s not a necessity. Add the detail rose stamp with the real red to two of the roses. On one “feature” rose (which will be. the one on top) stamp the detail rose in Cherry Cobbler Ink. Stamp the rose centers with Cherry Cobbler Ink.
  • With Pear Pizzazz Ink stamp the solid leaf fill. Use Old Olive Ink to add the detailed fill.
  • Die Cut the stamped images and the label.
  • Stamp the sentiments on the tag and the inside of the card.
  • Add a Real Red rose to the inside and two on the envelope.
  • Dry fit the die cuts on the card front and use Liquid Glue to adhere them in place, popping the top “feature” rose with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add Wink of Stella to the centers and 3 Red Rhinestones.

Stampin’ Up! Positive Thoughts Card

I was on a committee for a Woman’s Lake Retreat that was to take place in April, but was cancelled by COVID19. I purchased this stamp and die set for an Art Project for the ladies to decorate their “spiral flip” desktop Scripture cards and to make a couple of greeting cards to share with their friends. This particular card was inspired by a sample card on Page 87 in the new Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Enjoy!

The Paper Cuts

  • Old Olive Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Peaceful Poppies DSP: Rectangle Die from Nature’s Thoughts Dies (this paper is retiring with the Jan-Jun 2020 Mini Catalog)
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ Inside Panel, 2 frond dies, a butterfly die and a scrap from the sentiment.

The Creating

  • Stamp the butterfly and a frond from the Positive Thoughts stamp set in Pretty Peacock Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Die Cut the images with the coordinating dies in the Nature’s Thoughts die set.
  • Stamp a second generation frond image in Pretty Peacock on the Whisper White Panel.
  • Stamp a frond in Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White Cardstock and die cut.
  • In Old Olive Ink stamp the “Sending…” sentiment on the Whisper White Panel and the “Friends…” sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock. Fussy cut the later with Paper Snips.
  • With Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, adhere the Pretty Peacock Cardstock Panel to the card base. Top with the Rectangle Die. Add the Pretty Peacock frond die and the butterfly die. Add the Whisper White Panel to the inside.
  • Pop the Pear Pizzazz frond die and the “Friends” fussy cut sentiment up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add Wink of Stella to the butterfly wings, pulling the color into the center.

Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Catalog Case

This card uses the Timeless Tropical Bundle and is cased from the Jan-Jun 2020 Mini Catalog. It’s a good exercise because it causes me to do different techniques and use different elements than I would normally choose. I suggest you give it a try. Enjoy!

The Cuts

  • Crushed Curry Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″; Rectangle Stitched Die (2 4/8″ x 4″), Floral Die, two Palm Tree Dies and a 3 3/8″ x 3/4″ Strip
  • Terracotta Tile Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 3/4″ Strip
  • Old Olive Cardstock: Leaf Die

The Creating

  • Stamp the pineapple in a tile repeat on the Stitched Rectangle Die with Crushed Curry Ink.
  • Stamp the Palm Trees twice inking the trunk (carefully) with Soft Suede and the fronds with Pear Pizzazz.
  • Stamp the flower with Terracotta Tile Ink.
  • Apply a set of Palm Trees to the pineapple panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Apply the second with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Tie the Bakers Twine around the pineapple panel and tie a bow.
  • Adhere the panel to the card front.
  • Tag the ends of the Terracotta strip and stamp the sentiment with Terracotta Tile Ink.
  • Ink the recessed side of the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder with Pear Pizzazz stamp pad. Lay the Whisper White Strip inside and run through the Big Shot. Sponge it with Pear Pizzazz ink. Put Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive along the front, top edge and adhere the sentiment tag onto it.
  • Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the tag under the Bakers Twine on the card front.
  • Pop the flower up with dimensional and glue the die cut leaf in place.
  • I applied Wink of Stella to the flower and added 3 Holiday Basic Jewels.
  • Adhere the Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.
  • Stamp a pineapple in Crushed Curry ink to the bottom corner.

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Poppy Elements Cards

I realized today that I had not used the Peaceful Poppies Elements from the Peaceful Poppies Suite so I pulled them out and had some fun. I made two cards, the pink one is a CASE from Lori Pinto at Lollypop Paper & Ink and the red one was inspired by the tag shown on page 24 of the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog. I hope you will enjoy them and be inspired as well.

The Cutting

  • Whisper White Cardstock: Two card bases 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″; a 4″ x 5 1/2″ front layer; Painted Labels Die – large tag; scrap for a Sentiment
  • Flirty Flamingo Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ front layer
  • Poppy Parade Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ front layer
  • Basic Black Cardstock: Painted Labels Die – large circular

The Creating

  • Cut the large circular die from Painted Labels Dies from the Whisper White front layer. Save it for later.
  • Adhere the Flirty Flamingo layer on the card base and top with the Whisper White front layer used for the die. I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Mount the circular die back in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the center only.
  • Use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount the flowers. There is a single layer on the part of the bottom flower not touching the circle, a single layer on the top flower where it is touching the circle and a double layer where it isn’t.
  • Stamp the Sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and fussy cut with Snips. Use double Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount to the card front.
  • Add sequins from Peaceful Poppies Sequins with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Run the Poppy Parade Layer through the Big Shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder. Adhere to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Peaceful Moments on the die cut tag. Adhere it to the circular die.
  • Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the poppy elements on the corners. Add the vellum leaf elements with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Add sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins with Mini Glue Dots.

Two quick and easy cards with minimal stamping…just the sentiments.

Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Card

Tonight’s card is about all things girly….pink, red, glittery, shiny, sequins and sweet. It uses the new Heartfelt Bundle and the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Jan-Jun 2020 Mini Catalog. I hope you enjoy!

I began with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock scored at 5 1/2″. I added a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock that I spritzed with White Shimmer Paint (mixed 80/20 with alcohol) and embossed with the new Parisian Flourish 3D Folder. It is adhered with Liquid Adhesive.

I punched a pink heart and a red heart from the larger heart pattern paper (top left) with the lacy heart punch. Then I punched one from the other larger heart pattern with the smooth heart punch. I stamped the larger lacy heart from the Heartfelt Stamp Set in Real Red on a scrap of Whisper White and punched it out with the lacy heart punch.

I added Wink of Stella to the edge of the stamped heart. Then adhered it with the large tri-color punched heart with Liquid Adhesive. I wanted it to have a lacy edge like the other two. I stamped “Roses are Red” in Real Red ink on the pink heart and I stamped “So Lucky” in Flirty Flamingo ink on the red heart. The top two hearts and the sequins (I recommend the putty end of the Take Your Pick Tool) are adhered to the card with Liquid Adhesive. The bottom heart is raised on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside piece of Whisper White is 4″ x 5 1/4″. The heart is stamped in Real Red and the “Being Friends” in Tuxedo Black, and adhered with Liquid Adhesive.
