Stampin’ Up! Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin Cards

Tonights cards are from the Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin Kit. When it arrived a week ago it had a defective piece. I simply called Stampin’ Up! and they immediately sent a new piece out to me. They are awesome!

I made a card per the instructions and paired it with one inspired from the “Do More With This Month’s Kit” on the back of the instructions.

For the alternative I added the cake image from the Happy Birthday to You set from Sale-A-Bration and used the Coordination Release matching dies to cut it out. The flowers are colored, topped with Wink of Stella with floral sequins from the Poppies Suite in the centers. I also added the Stitched So Sweetly Die in Whisper White. I chose to switch sides of the card with the cake to cover the connecting tab.

For this alternative I added a 3 1/4″ square Pretty Peacock and a 3 1/2″ square of Rich Razzleberry. I watercolored the stripes on the candle and the cake icing with the ink pads and used a Gray Granite (it matches the speckles in the background) Stampin’ Write to add the base for the cake. I used a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend topped with Wink of Stella for the candle flame.

Here, this alternative (opposite positioning, sorry) uses the floral cut out on the background instead of the stamped image. The shading become “spatter” behind it. I raised the image on Dimensionals and moved the foam wording over.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday to You and Coordinating Birthday Dies

Stampin’ Up! created coordinating dies to the Sale-A-Bration Happy Birthday to You stamp set in the Coordination Product Release for February 4 – March 31, 2020, while supplies last. There is a die that cuts the flowers from the cake which is what I played with tonight. The card was CASEd from New Zealand Demonstrator, Angela Meiritz-Reid.

  • The card base is Whisper White Cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. I embossed a 4 x 5 1/4″ piece with the Scripty Embossing Folder and adhered to with Tombow Liquid Adhesive to the front.
  • I stamped the top portion of the cake with the flowers onto Whisper White Cardstock with VersaMark Ink, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.
  • I used a Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker to highlight the flowers and then followed with a medium tip Aqua Painter to spread the ink and watercolor the images. I repeated with Granny Apple Green for the leaves. I find this gives me more control and definition with the small detail stamps than picking up ink with the aqua painter.
  • I used the dies to cut out the flowers and then my Snips to separate the two from the single one. I also cut the berry sprig and leaves from Vellum, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple and Garden Green Cardstock scraps.
  • I adhered the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I placed a puddle of Liquid Adhesive on my Silicone Mat and touched the bottom of the leaf and sprig cut outs to it and them tucked them into place. I found it helpful to use an acrylic block to weight it in place while the glue set.
  • I added a small Pearl Basic Jewel to the center of each flower.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink on a Whisper White Cardstock scrap, cut out with snips and adhered with Liquid Adhesive.
  • I stamped a portion of the cake and flowers in the corner of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock and the Happy Birthday sentiment in Blackberry Bliss Ink.
  • I touched the flower centers and the flower berries with an Aqua Painter for the watercolor fill.
  • I layered the left edge with a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock, adhered with Snail.

Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Lovely Lily Birthday Card

This card is made with all free “bonus” products from the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Catalog. The Lovely Lily Pad stamp set has special reversible stamps that fill in “two-step stamping” color. The stamp set is free with a $50 purchase and the coordinating Lily Pad Dies are free with a $150 purchase. The Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper is free with a $50 purchase. The card came together very easy and is very lovely.

I began with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock scored at 5 1/2″. I adhered a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper to the front with Snail. I used the Stitched Shapes Dies (the 2 1/4″ x 1 5/16″ Circle) to cut a piece Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped the large lily and the small lily in Lovely Lipstick on Whisper White and used the reverse stamp to add Flirty Flamingo fill. I cut the Lilies using the outline dies. I cut the detail outline dies from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock and adhered them with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. I stamped the lily pad on Old Olive Cardstock with Old Olive Ink and cut it with the coordinating die. I stamped the birthday sentiment from Peaceful Poppies in Lovely Lipstick ink. The smaller lily is popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside I adhered a piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White Cardstock with Snail. I stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Poppies in Lovely Lipstick. I added a 3/4″ strip of the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper to the bottom edge with Snail.

I added 3 green rhinestones from the Holidays Basic Rhinestones.

Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Happy Birthday to You Card

I love the look of white embossing on white cardstock. It has an elegant watercolor feel that is worth the extra “work”, aka fun, of embossing. For this card I used the Sale-A-Bration Happy Birthday to You Stamp Set to make this card. This set is free with a $50 retail purchase.

I began with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Old Olive Cardstock scored at 5 1/2″. I adhered a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Vellum Cardstock to the front with Mini Glue Dots. I was careful to place them where the next layer would hide them. I cut a piece of 3 1/4″ x 4 11/16″ Seaside Spray Cardstock. I used the Rectangle Dies to cut the 3″ x 4 5/16″ rectangle from Whisper White and swiped it with the Embossing Buddy to remove any static. I stamped the cake image in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. I stamped the “To You” image in Seaside Foam on a scrap of Vellum and heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. I used my Snips to trim it down and banner the end (split the middle and cut in from each side). I used the pointed tip of the Take Your Pick Tool to make a hole in the other end for the Linen Thread.

I colored the image with Stampin’ Blends: Seaside Spray Combo, Dark Daffodil Delight, Old Olive Combo, Gray Granite Combo. I added Wink of Stella to the cake. I adhered the Whisper White to the Seaside Spray with Snail and wrapped the Linen Thread around twice, knotted, added the tag and tied a bow. I secured it in place with a mini glue dot. I then popped this layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a couple of Pearl Basic Jewels.

The inside sentiment is simply stamped in Old Olive Ink on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock.
