Stampin’ Up! A Touch of Ink – 4 Days of Sale-A-Bration Left

I used A Touch of Ink Photopolymer Stamp Set from the Jan – 28 Feb 2021 Sale-A-Bration Brochure for this card. This set is a mega set with two sheets of stamps including two step stamping and greetings. It is free with a $100 retail purchase during Sale-A-Bration which ends Sunday, February 28, 2021. There are more details about Sale-A-Bration at the bottom of the post.

The Paper Cuts

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ (card base)
  • Gold Foil Sheets: 4″ x 5 1/4″ (Tip: I cut the middle out with the 3rd largest Stitched Rectangle to use on another project).
  • Vellum Cardstock: 2″ x 2 1/4″
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 3 3/4″ x 1″
  • True Love Designer Series Paper: 3 3/4″ x 5″ (front), 5 1/4″ x 1/2″ (for inside) and 5 3/4″ x 2 3/8″ (env)

The Creating

  • Stamp the butterfly image from A Touch of Ink Photopolymer Stamp Set on the Vellum Cardstock with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Add Wink of Stella to the wings, if desired. Fussy cut with Paper Snips leaving a narrow border.
  • Stamp the greeting from A Touch of Ink Photopolymer Stamp Set on the Basic Black Cardstock with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with the Heat Tool.
  • Stamp “Happy Birthday” from Happy Thoughts Cling Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on the inside of the card.
  • Adhere the layers to the card front and inside with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I only added the glue to the body of the butterfly which allows the wings to curl off the card about 1/8″. It will easily slide into the envelope, be flat for mailing and resume the curl when removed.
  • Add 3 Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to embellish the card front.
  • Adhere the 1/2″ strip of the True Love Designer Series Paper to the inside edge of the card and the larger piece to a Basic White Medium Envelope flap with Mutlipurpose Liquid Glue. Trim excess DSP from the envelope with Paper Snips.

I hope you enjoyed this card. There are links down below for the products used.

Stampin’ Up! True Love Birthday Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Amy’s Inkin’ Krew blog hop!  This month we are all creating projects with a “Birthday” theme. My birthday card spotlights the True Love Designer Series Paper from the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog which is all beautiful patterns in black and white. Enjoy!

The Paper Cuts

  • True Love Designer Series Paper: largest rectangle die cut from Stitched Rectangle Dies, 5 1/4″ x 3/8″ (inside), 5 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ (envelope) and the colored and fussy cut flowers and leaves.
  • Rich Razzleberry Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ (card base) and the 3rd largest scallop circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ and the “Happy” die from Word Wishes Dies.
  • Basic White Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ and the 4th largest smooth circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.

The Creating

  • I used Rich Razzleberry Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends to color the floral images. I used Old Olive Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends to color the leaves and stem. I highlighted the floral centers with a shadow of Light Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blend. In total, there is a cluster of 3 flowers, a bud with a leaf and a separate flower and leaf to layer underneath. After coloring I fussy cut with Paper Snips leaving a narrow margin of white.
  • I aligned the “Happy” die cut on the white circle die cut and stamped “Birthday” from the Well Said Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Ink. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut above the stamped sentiment and to adhere the circles together.
  • I stamped the inside sentiment on the Basic White panel with Tuxedo Black Ink. I adhered the DSP strip and a fussy cut flower image with liquid glue. This flower was salvaged from the edge of the DSP and trimmed slightly with my Paper Trimmer to align with the edges of my panel.
  • The card was assembled with liquid glue with the exception of the large cluster of flowers which is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The envelope flap panel was trimmed with Paper Snips after adhering.
  • I colored 3 Rhinestone Basic Jewels with the Rich Razzleberry Dark Stampin’ Blend to embellish the card front.

Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony Birthday Card

This card features the Prized Peony bundle which includes the Prized Peony stamp set and Peony dies. It’s one of those bundles that offers many design options and ease of creating. I’ve posted 3 other cards from this set so far and each one is very different. I think this is my favorite (at least so far!). I would love to hear which one is your favorite. Enjoy!

The Paper

  • Very Vanilla Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and 5 x 3 3/4″
  • Just Jade Cardstock: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ and a scrap for the sentiment
  • Terracotta Tile Cardstock: 5″ x 3 1/4″ (front) and 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside)
  • Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper: approx 3 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ for image & die
  • Very Vanilla Medium Envelope

The Creating

  • I used that Stamparatus to stamp the large peony image with StazOn Jet Black Ink on the Watercolor Paper. Tips: 1) the watercolor paper has more texture than standard cardstock and the Stamparatus allows restamping multiple times for a great image (I stamped this one 3 times).2) StazOn ink is alcohol based so when watercoloring it won’t bleed. 3) you will need StazOn Cleaner to get this ink off your stamp
  • I used Petal Pink, Terracotta Tile, Just Jade and Shaded Spruce ink pads with the smallest Water Painter to color the image. Tips: 1) squeeze the lid and bottom of the stamp pad together to get an ink pallet on the top. 2) Lay a base of the lighter color (i.e., Petal Pink on the flowers) and then add the darker color (Terracotta Tile) in the shaded areas of the stamped image. Let dry or use your Heat Tool between colors/layers. 3) Keep a paper towel handy to dab extra water from your Water Painter to control the color intensity… the wetter the lighter the color will be.
  • Die cut the watercolored image with your die cutting machine.
  • Emboss the smaller Terracotta panel with the Dainty Diamonds 3-D folder.
  • Rub the Basic Black scrap with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp the sentiment in VersaMark ink, sprinkle with White embossing powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Fussy cut with your snips.
  • Adhere the embossed Terracotta panel to the Basic Black Panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Adhere the peony on top. Tie the Vanilla ribbon in a knot and trim ends. Apply the sentiment with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Adhere the Just Jade panel to the card front. Add the other panels.

For the Inside & the Envelope

  • Stamp the sentiment in black on the Very Vanilla inside panel. Add the two peony images with 2nd Generation Terracotta ink. Adhere to the Terracotta panel and then to the card base.
  • Stamp the peony in First Generation Terracotta ink on the envelope front and flap.

You can view the other peony cards here:

Stampin’ Up! Playful Pets Birthday Card

Monday is my husband’s birthday, so this card is for him. It features the Pampered Pets bundle and the coordinating Playful Pets Designer Series Paper and Playful Pets Trinkets. I chose this set because we have owned two Salt and Pepper Miniature Schnauzers and currently a sweet Kerry Blue Terrier named Keelan O’Shea. I’ll post his picture at the end. I’ll also give some tips on getting those little bitty paw prints on your card. Enjoy!

The Paper

  • Real Red Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and a Heart Punch.
  • Basic Black Cardstock:  4″ x 5 1/4″ and a paw print die.
  • Playful Pets DSP: 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″, a 5″ x 1/4″ strip and 2″ x 5 3/4″
  • Whisper White Cardstock: largest Stitched So Sweetly scallop frame, dog die cut, scrap for dog bowl and 5 1/4″ x 4″ panel.

The Creating

  • Stamp the dog and dog bowl in Tuxedo Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Color with Smoky Slate Dark, Basic Black Light/Dark (nose) and Real Red Dark (collar) Stampin’ Blends. I used the Color Lifter to lighten the inside of the bowl. Fussy cut the dog bowl with Paper Snips and die cut the dog.
  • Use an exact knife to cut the front curve of the dog bowl opening. Use a bone folder to curve the fibers of the dog bowl. Insert a dog bone trinket and secure with a Mini Glue Dot to the back of the bowl. This will help hide the trinket loop.
  • Die cut a paw print die from Basic Black being careful not to disturb it as it exits your die cutting machine. Carefully lift the extra cardstock leaving the paw pieces on the plate. Place a small piece of Press and Seal Saran Wrap over the pieces and burnish with a Bone Folder. Carefully lift off the plate. If the pieces don’t come with the wrap, stop and burnish again until it does. Flip the wrap over and apply a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to each piece of the largest paw print. Apply it to the front corner of your Heart punch and press to secure. Slowly lift the wrap leaving the paw pieces in place. Save the other two prints on the wrap.
  • Adhere the Basic Black panel to the card front. Add the stripe DSP and top it with the scallop frame die. Adhere the heart to the right corner. Stamp your sentiment in the left corner. This one is from Peaceful Moments (my favorite sentiment set).
  • Add the bowl and trinket with a Mini Glue Dot on each side. (If mailing I recommend you pad the front).
  • Pop up the dog die cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals. So cute!

The Inside & the Envelope

  • Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Ink.
  • Adhere the stripe strip along the bottom edge of the Whisper White panel. Adhere to the inside of the card.
  • Adhere the medium paw print above the sentiment.
  • Adhere the DSP to the envelope flap and trim with Paper Snips.
  • I added the small paw print to my card front next to hubby’s name and added a dog bowl which I colored with Real Red Dark Stampin’ Blend. I used the Color Lifter to lighten the inside of the bowl.

As promised…here is a picture of our fur baby. We don’t have children so he has us totally wrapped. I would have colored the dog on the card black like him, but we joke about how hard it is to get a good picture of him because he is so black so I colored the dog gray. Kerry Blue are jet black as puppies and at 18 months begin to lighten to a slate gray as they age.

Stampin’ Up! Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin Cards

Tonights cards are from the Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin Kit. When it arrived a week ago it had a defective piece. I simply called Stampin’ Up! and they immediately sent a new piece out to me. They are awesome!

I made a card per the instructions and paired it with one inspired from the “Do More With This Month’s Kit” on the back of the instructions.

For the alternative I added the cake image from the Happy Birthday to You set from Sale-A-Bration and used the Coordination Release matching dies to cut it out. The flowers are colored, topped with Wink of Stella with floral sequins from the Poppies Suite in the centers. I also added the Stitched So Sweetly Die in Whisper White. I chose to switch sides of the card with the cake to cover the connecting tab.

For this alternative I added a 3 1/4″ square Pretty Peacock and a 3 1/2″ square of Rich Razzleberry. I watercolored the stripes on the candle and the cake icing with the ink pads and used a Gray Granite (it matches the speckles in the background) Stampin’ Write to add the base for the cake. I used a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend topped with Wink of Stella for the candle flame.

Here, this alternative (opposite positioning, sorry) uses the floral cut out on the background instead of the stamped image. The shading become “spatter” behind it. I raised the image on Dimensionals and moved the foam wording over.

You will find links to all the products used below. If you have any questions, please contact me at stampdabbles@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday to You and Coordinating Birthday Dies

Stampin’ Up! created coordinating dies to the Sale-A-Bration Happy Birthday to You stamp set in the Coordination Product Release for February 4 – March 31, 2020, while supplies last. There is a die that cuts the flowers from the cake which is what I played with tonight. The card was CASEd from New Zealand Demonstrator, Angela Meiritz-Reid.

  • The card base is Whisper White Cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. I embossed a 4 x 5 1/4″ piece with the Scripty Embossing Folder and adhered to with Tombow Liquid Adhesive to the front.
  • I stamped the top portion of the cake with the flowers onto Whisper White Cardstock with VersaMark Ink, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.
  • I used a Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker to highlight the flowers and then followed with a medium tip Aqua Painter to spread the ink and watercolor the images. I repeated with Granny Apple Green for the leaves. I find this gives me more control and definition with the small detail stamps than picking up ink with the aqua painter.
  • I used the dies to cut out the flowers and then my Snips to separate the two from the single one. I also cut the berry sprig and leaves from Vellum, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple and Garden Green Cardstock scraps.
  • I adhered the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I placed a puddle of Liquid Adhesive on my Silicone Mat and touched the bottom of the leaf and sprig cut outs to it and them tucked them into place. I found it helpful to use an acrylic block to weight it in place while the glue set.
  • I added a small Pearl Basic Jewel to the center of each flower.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink on a Whisper White Cardstock scrap, cut out with snips and adhered with Liquid Adhesive.
  • I stamped a portion of the cake and flowers in the corner of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock and the Happy Birthday sentiment in Blackberry Bliss Ink.
  • I touched the flower centers and the flower berries with an Aqua Painter for the watercolor fill.
  • I layered the left edge with a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock, adhered with Snail.

Stampin’ Up! Poppy Birthday Card

For this card I used the Painted Poppies Stamp Set and the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.

The card base is Basic Black Cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. I adhered a 4 x 5 1/4″ piece of the DSP to the front. I stamped a piece of 2 1/2 x 4 1/4″ Whisper White with the Poppy Stem in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I added the Old Olive Inked splotches in first and second generation at the bottom. I used Real Red and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Combos to color the poppy. I added the sentiment and adhered with Snail to a 3 x 4 1/2″ piece of Basic Black. I wrapped the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around and tied in a bow before adhering it to the card front.

I also stamped and colored a poppy on the corner of the inside 4 x 5 1/4″ layer of Whisper White and added a sentiment. Both are from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.

Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Lovely Lily Birthday Card

This card is made with all free “bonus” products from the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Catalog. The Lovely Lily Pad stamp set has special reversible stamps that fill in “two-step stamping” color. The stamp set is free with a $50 purchase and the coordinating Lily Pad Dies are free with a $150 purchase. The Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper is free with a $50 purchase. The card came together very easy and is very lovely.

I began with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock scored at 5 1/2″. I adhered a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper to the front with Snail. I used the Stitched Shapes Dies (the 2 1/4″ x 1 5/16″ Circle) to cut a piece Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped the large lily and the small lily in Lovely Lipstick on Whisper White and used the reverse stamp to add Flirty Flamingo fill. I cut the Lilies using the outline dies. I cut the detail outline dies from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock and adhered them with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. I stamped the lily pad on Old Olive Cardstock with Old Olive Ink and cut it with the coordinating die. I stamped the birthday sentiment from Peaceful Poppies in Lovely Lipstick ink. The smaller lily is popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside I adhered a piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White Cardstock with Snail. I stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Poppies in Lovely Lipstick. I added a 3/4″ strip of the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper to the bottom edge with Snail.

I added 3 green rhinestones from the Holidays Basic Rhinestones.
