Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance Mother’s Day Card

I never expected to have so much fun with a butterfly set, but the Butterfly Brilliance Collections is awesome! It is an early release from the upcoming (May 4th) 2021-22 Annual Catalog (which I can’t wait for you to see!), but while the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set and the Brilliant Wings Dies will remain bundled with the 10% savings in the new catalog, the beautifully varied 6×6 Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper will not be available after May 3rd! Be sure to get it while you can. See details HERE. The dies coordinate with the designer in the DSP for simple cards like this one. The design is CASEd from Su Mohj. Enjoy!

The Paper Cuts

  • Basic White Thick Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8″, scored at 4 1/4″ (card base), 5/8″ x 2 5/8″ Stitched Rectangles Die (sentiment) and the largest Stitched Rectangles Die (front panel).
  • 6×6 Butterfly Bijou DSP: three of the 1 3/8″ x 3 3/8″ Stitched Rectangles die cuts (front), 5 1/4″ x 1/2″ (inside), 2 butterflies cut with the Brilliant Wings Dies (front) and 5 3/4″ x 2 3/8″ (envelope).

The Creating

  • With Basic Gray Ink, I stamped “Happy Mother’s Day” from Dressed to Impress Stamp Set on the smallest die cut and the inside sentiment from Happy Thoughts Stamp Set on the inside of the card base.
  • I adhered the three DSP panels to the large rectangle die cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Tip: Glue the first one and then place a ruler along the top edge to assist in placing the right one evenly. Add the middle one centered between to two. I popped this panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I used my Bone Folder to “lift” the butterfly wings on the DSP die cuts where they join the body. I applied two Mini Glue Dots to the body to adhere them to the card front.
  • I added the small rectangle sentiment on the lower left corner with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I embellished by placing three small dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the DSP and used the Take Your Pick putty end to apply Flowers for Every Season Gems to place the gems on the glue.
  • I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to apply the small DSP strip to the lower edge of the inside of the card and the larger one to the envelope flap, trimming the excess with Paper Snips.
  • I inked the small butterfly from the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set with Blushing Bride Ink and used a Sponge Dauber to apply a little Just Jade Ink before stamping it above the inside greeting.
  • I inked the larger butterfly from the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set with Just Jade Ink and used a Sponge Dauber to apply a little Misty Moonlight Ink before stamping it in 2nd generation (stamp off once first) on the envelope front.

Stampin’ Up! Dressed To Impress Birthday Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop for April! Today we are sharing projects with the theme “for the girls/ladies”. Be sure to hop along with the links at the bottom of my post to see how each talented team member interpreted that theme in their project!

I used the Dressed to Impress Photopolymer Stamp Set from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog to make this card. What stamp set is girlier….lipstick, heels, perfume?! Plus, I added a few other girly things like: pinks, ribbon with a bow, glitter and rhinestones! I hope you enjoy the card!

The Paper Cuts

  • Petal Pink Cardstock: 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″ (card base)
  • Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper: 5 1/8″ X 3 7/8″ (front), 5 3/4″ x 2 5/16″ (envelope) and 5 1/4″ x 1/2″ (inside)
  • Basic White Cardstock: 5 5/16″ x 4 1/16″ (front), four of the 3rd largest square die from Stitched Shapes Dies, and 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside)

The Creating

  • I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting from the Happy Thoughts Cling Stamp Set on the inside panel with Tuxedo Black Ink. Then, the lipstick, shoe, perfume and sentiment from the Dressed to Impress Stamp Set on the Stitched Squares. I used Petal Pink, Smoky Gray and Seaside Spray Light and Dark Blends Combos to color the images. I added Wink of Stella to the lipstick sleeve, the perfume bottle edges & trim, and the outside of the shoe.
  • I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the DSP panel to the front white panel and then both to the card base. Then I added the inside panel and the DSP strip.
  • The decorated Stitched Shapes squares are added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I added a piece of the White Faux Linen Trim from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack around the card front and tied it in a bow. The front is blinged with three Rhinestone Basic Jewels in a triangular pattern.
  • The remaining strip of DSP was adhered to the envelope flap with liquid glue and the excess trimmed with my Paper Snips. Super fun!

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance Hello Notecard

This card is made with the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle (see details below). The upcoming 2021-22 Annual Catalog (which I can’t wait for you to see!) has some beautiful examples of cards created using the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils. It has inspired me to pull mine out. They really do enhance the Distinctive Stamps and shaded artwork! Enjoy!

The Paper Cuts

  • Night of Navy Cardstock: 8 1/2″ x 4 1/2″, scored at 5 1/2″ (card base).
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (front panel)
  • Vellum Cardstock: 5″ x 3 3/4″ (front)
  • Basic White Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ panel (inside), 2″ x 1 1/2″ and 3″ x 2″ (die cutting)

The Creating

First, I must confess, I have dissected my Butterfly Brilliance stamp. It comes as one large cling mount stamp that stamps all six butterflies in one fell swoop (pun intended, lol). This allows the die from Brilliance Wings Dies to cut all of them at one. I took scissors and snipped the rubber between the butterflies (but I did not trim the excess away). I can still put them together (like a puzzle) on a block and stamp all of them, but now I can easily ink and stamp them individually instead of having to carefully position around the others.

  • I stamped the butterfly in Tuxedo Black Ink on the 3″ x 2″ Basic White Cardstock. I added the color with the Watercolor Pencils. I lightly went over the colored in area with a Blender Pen to smooth and brighten the color. I passed the colored image through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine under the coordinating butterfly die. I cut the shortest die from Stitched Rectangles Dies from the 2″ x 1 1/2″ Basic White Cardstock.
  • With Night of Navy Ink I stamped the butterfly randomly over the Daffodil Delight Cardstock panel. I stamped it on the corner of the Basic White Medium Envelope. I also stamped it in 2nd generation on the inside panel so that writing could be seen over it if the space was needed. I added the “Hello” sentiment from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set to the Stitched Rectangle die cut and the sentiment inside from the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set.
  • To adhere the card together I added Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the Daffodil Delight panel and applied it to the card base. I did the same with the inside layer. I placed the Vellum panel in place (without adhering) and applied the stitched square and the butterfly with Mini Glue Dots. I added the three Night of Navy Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I flipped the vellum over and applied liquid glue behind the added elements to adhere it to the card base so the adhesive would not show from the front.

Let me know if you have any questions!  You can drop me an email me at stampdabbles@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you.

Stampin’ Up! Handsomely Dressed Bowtie Birthday Card

I used the Handsomely Dressed Bundle from the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog to make this card. The original design is from Demonstrator, Tina Rappe at the stampinstudio.com, but I put a different twist on the colors. I live in a State where crimson and gray are cherished 😉 Do you know where the Designer Series Paper is from? You will find instructions and all the links for the supplies I used below.

The Paper Cuts

  • Basic White Thick Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″scored at 5 1/2″ (card base)and the 2nd largest circle die from Stitched Shapes Dies
  • Real Red Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel and 1 3/4″ x 1″ (to die cut the bowtie)
  • Playful Pets Designer Series Paper: 3 3/4″ x 2″ (top panel)
  • Peony Garden Designer Series Paper: 3 3/4″ x 3″ (bottom panel), 4 1/8″ x 1/2″ (inside) and 5 3/4″ x 2 3/8″ (envelope flap)
  • Basic Gray Cardstock: 2nd largest smooth edged circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.

The Creating

  • With Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the birthday greeting from Handsomely Suited Stamp Set on the stitched circle die cut. Also stamp the bowtie on the smaller Real Red piece of cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die from Suit and Tie Dies. I adhered this to the stitched circle with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • Adhere the two DSP panels to the larger Real Red panel. I wrapped a 5″ piece of Black/White Baker’s Twine from Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack between the panels and secured with tape on the back. I then used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere to the card front.
  • I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the decorated circle die cut to the card.
  • The inside greeting from Happy Thoughts Stamp Set is stamped in Basic Gray Ink.
  • I adhered the small DSP strip to the inside of the card and the larger to the envelope flap, trimming the excess away with my Paper Snips.

If you need any stamping supplies, I’d be very happy to be your Demonstrator.  Just click on the links above or the shop image on on the right side of the screen to go directly to my online store or drop me an email me at stampdabbles@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you.

Stampin’ Up! Art Gallery Spring Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop for March! Today we are sharing “Celebrate Spring” projects. You will find links at the bottom of my post to hop you along the way to the projects. Be sure to check out all of our talented team members projects to see how they interpreted the theme and what they have made for you!

I used the Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set from the 2021 January to June Mini Catalog (with a few other select stamps and dies) to make a Thinking of You Card with bright Spring colors and flowers that would brighten anyone’s day! There are links to the products used at the end of the blog. I hope you enjoy the card!

The Paper Cuts

  • Basic White Thick Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ (card base), largest Stitched Rectangle Dies die cut, and the middle Stitched Shapes Dies circle die cut.
  • Garden Green Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″

The Creating

  • I began by tracing the outline of the Stitched Shapes Dies medium circle onto the center of the Stitched Rectangles Dies die cut lightly with a pencil. This provided me with a stamping guide to know what would and what wouldn’t show from beneath the actual mounted die cut.
  • I then used Magenta Madness Ink to ink the top three flowers on the largest floral stamp in the Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it once at the top and once at the bottom of the circle.
  • Using Gorgeous Grape Ink, I stamped the double floral image from the Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set once on the left and once on the right of the circle.
  • With Bumblebee Ink, I added four of the small floral image from the Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set in between the purple and pink images.
  • I then stamped the tiny flower from Blossoms in Bloom Photopolymer Stamp Set (2020-22 Annual Catalog) with Seaside Spray Ink.
  • Finally I added the double leaf image from Beautiful Friendship Photopolymer Stamp Set (2020-22 Annual Catalog) in Garden Green Ink.
  • With Garden Green Ink, I stamped the “Thinking of You” sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom Photopolymer Stamp Set centered inside the Stitched Shapes Dies circle die cut. I also stamped the greeting from the Happy Thoughts Cling Stamp Set on the inside of the card base.
  • I repeated the flowers on the inside of the card and on the envelope flap. Don’t you love a matching set?
  • To assemble the card front I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the stamped Stitched Rectangle to the Garden Green panel and then both to the card base. I erased the pencil marks and then popped the Stitched Shapes die cut on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • To embellish, I added three Magenta Madness 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots.

Stampin’ Up! A Touch of Ink – 4 Days of Sale-A-Bration Left

I used A Touch of Ink Photopolymer Stamp Set from the Jan – 28 Feb 2021 Sale-A-Bration Brochure for this card. This set is a mega set with two sheets of stamps including two step stamping and greetings. It is free with a $100 retail purchase during Sale-A-Bration which ends Sunday, February 28, 2021. There are more details about Sale-A-Bration at the bottom of the post.

The Paper Cuts

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ (card base)
  • Gold Foil Sheets: 4″ x 5 1/4″ (Tip: I cut the middle out with the 3rd largest Stitched Rectangle to use on another project).
  • Vellum Cardstock: 2″ x 2 1/4″
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 3 3/4″ x 1″
  • True Love Designer Series Paper: 3 3/4″ x 5″ (front), 5 1/4″ x 1/2″ (for inside) and 5 3/4″ x 2 3/8″ (env)

The Creating

  • Stamp the butterfly image from A Touch of Ink Photopolymer Stamp Set on the Vellum Cardstock with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Add Wink of Stella to the wings, if desired. Fussy cut with Paper Snips leaving a narrow border.
  • Stamp the greeting from A Touch of Ink Photopolymer Stamp Set on the Basic Black Cardstock with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with the Heat Tool.
  • Stamp “Happy Birthday” from Happy Thoughts Cling Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on the inside of the card.
  • Adhere the layers to the card front and inside with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I only added the glue to the body of the butterfly which allows the wings to curl off the card about 1/8″. It will easily slide into the envelope, be flat for mailing and resume the curl when removed.
  • Add 3 Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to embellish the card front.
  • Adhere the 1/2″ strip of the True Love Designer Series Paper to the inside edge of the card and the larger piece to a Basic White Medium Envelope flap with Mutlipurpose Liquid Glue. Trim excess DSP from the envelope with Paper Snips.

I hope you enjoyed this card. There are links down below for the products used.

Paper Blooms Two for One

I used the Happy Thoughts Cling Stamp Set from the Jan – June 2021 Mini Catalog and the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper (free with a $50 retail purchase) from the Jan-Feb 2021 Sale-A-Bration brochure. These products are a perfect pair because of their big bold designs and the card design makes it easy to make two at once. Enjoy!

The Paper Cuts (for 2 cards)

  • Night of Navy Cardstock: 8 1/2″ x 11″ (card bases) and 3 1/2″ x 3″ (labels)
  • Paper Blooms DSP: two designs 4″ x 5 3/4″
  • Seaside Spray Cardstock: two 4″ x 5 1/2″ (insides)

The Creating

  • With the Paper Trimmer, score the 8 1/2″ x 11″ Night of Navy Cardstock at 5 1/2″ on the long edge. Cut it at 4 1/4″ on the short edge. You will have 2 card bases. Fold and burnish with the Bone Folder.
  • Line up the two Paper Blooms DSP pieces and cut 1/2″ on the short edge (for two 1/2″ x 4″ strips). Rotate the two DSP pieces and cut 1 3/4″ on the long edge (tfor two 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ strips).
  • Use the Timeless Label Punch to punch two labels from the 3 1/2″ x 3″ Night of Navy Cardstock.
  • Stamp the “Happy Birthday” and “Thank You” sentiments from Happy Thoughts Cling Stamp Set with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle on White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Tip: Use tweezers or a clothes pin to hold the label while heating. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the backs.
  • With Night of Navy Ink, stamp the sentiments on the Seaside Spray Cardstock panels.
  • Adhere the layers on the card bases as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the attached Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Embellish with Pearl Basic Jewels and a knot of Faux Linen Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack attached with a Mini Glue Dot (the Bakers Twine in this combo would look good too).
