Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Hello Notecard

This card features the Forever Fern bundle from the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It also incorporates the Layering Circles Dies and a sentiment from the To A Wild Rose stamp set. Enjoy!

The Paper

  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: a 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and a 1 1/2″ scallop circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Garden Green Cardstock:  a 4″ x 5 1/4″ and a 1 3/4″ scallop circle die cut from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: a 3 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ panel (front), a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel (inside) and a 1 3/8″ smooth circle from Layering Circles Dies.
  • Vellum Cardstock: a large fern leaf die cut from the Forever Flourishing Dies.

The Creating

  • Stamp the leaf fronds on the Whisper White front panel with Pretty Peacock and Garden Green Inks with the stamps in the center of the card.
  • Stamp the leaf frond on the Whisper White inside panel and on the envelope in Garden Green.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White smooth circle die cut in Pretty Peacock. (There is a Hello in the Forever Fern stamp set that can be used, but I like the way this one filled the circle instead of being in a straight line. It’s nice to have options 😉
  • Adhere the Garden Green panel to the card front and the stamped front panel to it. Adhere the Whisper White inside panel.
  • Snip the stamps away from the stem on the Vellum fern die cut. Separate any touching leaves and trim where needed. Dry fit these on the card front so that the stems are in the center. Adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Adhere the Garden Green circle in the center over the stems.
  • Adhere the white circle to the Pretty Peacock circle and pop onto the green one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Soft Spring Forever Lovely Card

Many are experiencing frustrations and various difficulties being separated during this Pandemic. Our Sunday school class decided to help each other encourage elderly parents and neighbors who are experiencing anxiety from living alone and being isolated. This card is going to a fellow member’s grandmother to let them know that they are being remembered and prayed for. I’m sure it will not only encourage the grandmother, but also my fellow SS member. I hope you’ll consider sharing a card with someone, too!

The Cuts

  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Old Olive Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″

The Creating

  • Cut a Rectangle Stitched Die (3 15/16″ x 2 5/8″) from the Old Olive Cardstock layer (save for another project). Stamp the dragonfly in black ink. Position this piece on the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Big Shot.
  • Put the Whisper White open cardstock on the Stamparatus with the Foam Mat in place and secure with the magnet. Lay the embossed panel on top as if it were adhered and place the floral stamp face down in the rectangle. Pick it up with the Stamparatus plate. Remove the embossed panel, ink the stamp with black ink and close the lid. If your impression is not good you can re-ink and stamp again.
  • Repeat with the flower stamp in Gorgeous Grape and the leaves in Pear Pizzazz.
  • Flip the card over repeat the Stamparatus process with the greeting, dragonfly and floral image all at once. Then add the purple flowers and green leaves.
  • Add the floral images to the envelope.
  • Adhere the embossed panel with Foam Adhesive Strips.
  • Add Wink of Stella to the dragonfly wings.

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor with Painted Poppies and So Sentimental Bundle

I love the layers of color that you get with watercoloring. The inks always break into several shades, mix together for new ones and create lots of interest. It was enlightening to see how the unexpected color elements on this card came together. Enjoy!

The Cutting

  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper: Two – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper: 3 3/4″ x 5″ and Label Die

The Creating

  • I applied water to the watercolor paper with the large aqua painter individually before adding each color ink with the medium aqua painter. This allows you to control the boundaries in which the watercolor will run.
  • I started with Seaside Spray Ink, decided it was a little lighter than I wanted and added a little Night of Navy Ink along the bottom edge. Then the Pretty Peacock Ink and the Mint Macaroon Ink. Just squeeze your Ink Pad in the middle until the pad touches the lid and you have a pallet in your lid to pick up the color with your aqua painter. I recommend you keep a paper towel on hand to dab any extra water from the tip of your painter or from your paper.
  • Once it was completely dry (if not, the ink will run), I stamped the poppy images in Pretty Peacock Ink and the Sentiment on the label.
  • I added Pretty Peacock spatter. I made a watery ink with the medium aqua painter and tapped it against my finger above the paper.
  • I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to attach the layers to the card base. Especially recommended for the Watercolor Paper because it may slightly warp from the water.
  • I popped the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I added three Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. These are a carry over item so if you don’t have them stay tuned. Note: This was one of the interesting color combos because they are actually listed as Coastal Cabana. The other was the DSP which is listed as Pool Party. Moral: Don’t be afraid to experiment. It works beautifully with watercolor.
  • I used the same DSP on the inside with a poppy stamped on the corner. I didn’t add a sentiment because I often find I just need a notecard these days to touch base (without a special occasion) or a sentiment can be added when the card is purposed. Black ink should be easily visible on this light “watercolored” design.

Stampin’ Up! Simple Stamping Honey Bee Note Card

I saw this sweet card on Pinterest and had to make one. You know I love these bees! It is CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) from Helen Read at All Things Stampy. I couldn’t find her actual post on her blog, but it looks like a black line drawn around the stamped images for framing. I decided to add a Basic Black layer and pop the image layer with Dimensionals. Enjoy!

The Cutting

  • Whisper White Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ card base scored at 4 1/4″ and a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ layer.
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″

The Creating

  • I used my Stamparatus to be sure and get the stamps lined up.
  • Inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped all the images at once.
  • I added Wink of Stella to the bees wings (a must).
  • I added two Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
  • I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to attached the black layer to the card base.
  • I adhered the image layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Dressed To Impress Card

The images in the Dressed to Impress Bundle are super cute and oh so girly! Especially when paired with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I must also say that it surprised me how wonderfully bold the sentiments stamped. You won’t be disappointed. Here’s what I made tonight.

The Cutting

  • Whisper White Cardbase: 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
  • Basic Black Layer: 4 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
  • Lovely Lipstick Layers: 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and 2 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ (die #2)
  • Whisper White Dies & Sentiment: 4 1/4″ x 3″ and 5 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ (largest die)

The Stamping and Embellishing

  • On the Whisper White Stitched So Sweetly Die, stamp the shoe and sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink and the dots in Lovely Lipstick ink.
  • On the Whisper White layer stamp two shoes to die cut and the inside sentiment.
  • The shoes are colored with Light Flirty Flaming and Dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blend and the Black Stampin’ Write (sole).
  • I added Pearl Basic Jewels to the shoes.
  • The top shoe and the front layer are popped on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The other layers are adhered with Snail.
