Stampin’ Up! Sending Hearts – January 2021 Paper Pumpkin

Good evening! My sister and I have committed to doing our Paper Pumpkin Kits together each month. We have fun asking, “Did you get your’s yet?’ and, whoever does calls the other and shares the surprise details about what color the Ink Spot is and what the specialty stamp set contains. It’s hard to wait, but no one proceeds until we can get together. Believe me, we don’t wait long!

We live on the opposite side of the country from Stampin’ Up!’s distribution center so it takes a bit for the shipping system to get it here logistically. As we are waiting, we begin to see those “nearer” Demonstrators post their beautiful projects. We take note of any we want to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). Today was our day and I want to share with you our makes…. enjoy! And if you haven’t subscribed yet, what are you waiting for? The kits come with everything you need except scissors. There are links below to make subscribing simple ;).

This month’s kit came with a Poppy Parade Ink Spot and a sweet collection of Valentine’s stamps. These two cards were made following the instructions within the kit. Stampin’ Up! also has a web address devoted to Paper Pumpkin which contains an instructional video and more.

After making the alternatives below we had two card panels and 2 Love punch outs left so we made these two cards – adding Basic White card bases and some Basic Black Cardstock. The one on the left was inspired by an alternative project that Stampin’ Up! provided on the back of the instruction sheet. The one on the right used the Heart Stamp and Petal Pink Ink as a background. The included puffed heart adhesives were colored with a Sharpie to make them black. The hearts used are from the Heart Punch Pack.

This sweet card was inspired by Cheri’s Cards by Cheri Stojkovich. I “fussy cut” the center of the heart and used the scallop heart from the Heart Punch Pack on the stamped heart image. The smaller hearts are colored in with Wink of Stella.

These two are cards designed by Chelsey Christensen at Creative Chelsey. They involved additional card bases (Basic White and Petal Pink), coloring some of the puffed heart embellishment with Stampin’ Blends, and a little Gold Foil punched with the scallop heart punch.

This fun fold card was created by Vy Tran from Crafting Daily Dose. I refer to her to my sister as the “Paper Pumpkin Queen”, lol. She does these incredibly creative fun fold cards. The only variant here is that I added Wink of Stella to the cute snail. He should be wet and shiny, right?

Stampin’ Up! November 2020 Paper Pumpkin Projects & Alternatives

The November 2020 Paper Pumpkin, Jolly Gingerbread, has been lots of fun to create with! I want to share the projects included as well as a few alternatives.

If you’re not familiar with Paper Pumpkin, it’s an all inclusive kit that you can subscribe to monthly or annually, or anywhere in between. There are links below to view the options…monthly is $22, which is such a deal for all you get! It comes with everything you need to create the projects and varies between cards and gift items. The only thing you need is scissors. In addition to the consumable items, it includes an Ink Spot and an exclusive Stamp Set. This was in the November 2020 – Jolly Gingerbread:

Can you tell which stamps I’ve used the most? I alway say, “Next month, I’ll take the picture before I use them”, but I just can’t wait to dive in! Sorry! Pink and red inks tend to stain, but it doesn’t diminish the use of the stamp.

The November Jolly Gingerbread Kit is designed to make 15 gift card holders. I don’t need quite that many, so I made the nine below. The greetings can be all stamped with the Blushing Bride Ink Spot that is included, but I opted to use coordinating colors, Shaded Spruce and Mint Macaron for some. The directions instruct to pop the back with dimensionals, but since I do not know all of the recipients at this point I chose to adhere them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue for ease of writing the To/From.

With the remaining pieces I made a few alternative projects and I still have pieces left for more creative fun! Following are pictures and a few detail for the mini card, gift box and card that I made. Enjoy!

To make mini cards, all you have to do is cut the side tab away with the paper trimmer. I added the “back” piece to the inside and exchanged the To/From with one of the greetings from the stamp set. in Mint Macaron to match the door and a Mint Macaron peppermint. So cute!

For the full sized card, I used a Cinnamon Cider card base to match the gingerbread house and topped it with a panel of Shaded Spruce embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. I stamped the curly stamp for smoke, outlined with Wink of Stella and added 2 of the heart punch outs from the house windows. I used the Banner Triple Punch to flag the sentiment and added Whisper White Crinkle Ribbon to embellish. On the inside and the envelope I used the Stamparatus to line up the scrolley image.

This box was so much fun! It’s my favorite. I used two of the gift card bases and attached them together with the included Tear n’ Tape. I used grid paper to figure the dimensions below. I didn’t want to have a large amount of Cinnamon Cider showing on the inside so I used a 1/4″ border. If you are going to use regular Tear n’ Tape instead of what is used in the kit, you will need to make this a little wider.

I angled the cuts to minimize the bulk, applied the adhesive to the outside of the box bottom edges (so it wouldn’t show from the outside of the gift box) and formed the gingerbread pieces around it. Then closed the seam.

Stampin’ Up! Hello Pumpkin September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit and Alternatives

I want to share with you some of the projects I’ve made with the Hello Pumpkin September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit. I am always amazed upon the kit’s arrival at the quantity and quality you get for the subscription price. It contains an exclusive stamp set, an ink spot and everything else need to complete the professionally designed projects from adhesive to a paper ruler! This kit does not disappoint. As a matter of fact, I’ll share how I organize some of the many items for ease of creating in this post. I hope you’ll enjoy the projects and will find the tips helpful.

The kit was originally designed to make 20 treat holders that could be decorated for fall, Halloween or Thanksgiving! There are lots of pieces to allow you to create them any way you want. Here are three of mine.

They hold 4 Hersey Nuggets perfectly if you place them in as shown. I found it easiest to lay the popper down once burnished and adhered and slide them in one pair after the other. Otherwise they twist around as you drop them in. The instructions advise for 12″ of the bakers twine for each end, but I found 10 1/2″ to be a comfortable amount to tie the bow with ample tails.

I also made a few cards. For this one I added a Cajun Craze card base, a Subtle 3D embossed Pumpkin Pie Layer and a Plaid Tidings DSP Rectangle Stitched die cut. I stamped the pumpkin from the stamp set in the kit, added the Halloween face and used Stampin’ Blends to color it on Whisper White. I cut it with the So Sentimental die cut. I added one of the witches hats, flowers, swirl, leaves and label from the kit. The flower centers are from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

The inside included a sentiment and two labels from the kit as well as the Plaid DSP (on the envelope flap, too).

The other 4 cards I’ve made so far are CASEd from my spline, the amazing Amy Koenders. You can see her blog post here. Super sweet design!

I have lots of pieces and bases left to do more creating which leads to a couple more tips.

  • To glue the lacy die cuts in place I found small dots of Multipurpose Adhesive Glue the easiest. You’ll use less glue than you think. That stuff goes a long way and has lots of hold.
  • All the little pieces are great, but punching them out one at a time when I need them and sometimes having them fall out when I don’t can frustrate me and take up too much time. So, I put an old craft supply I wasn’t using to good use. Do you know what it is? I keep the large pieces and the stamp set in a regular stamp case.

Here is the Stampin’ Up! video showing you how to put this kit together to make the treat holders:
