Stampin’ Up! Textures & Frames Colorful Birthday Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Textures & Frames Photopolymer Stamp Set to make two fun, colorful birthday cards…one is simple stamping and the other is stepped up with a few more layers and embellishments. This stamp set is free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration (through September 2021, while supplies last, brochure linked below). It is so easy to use…I don’t know why I’ve waited so long! I hope you enjoy the card!

Card 1 – Simply Stamped

The Paper Cuts

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock: 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″ (base) and 5″ x 3 3/4″ (front panel)
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″

The Creating

The stripes are made by stamping the solid brushstroke twice, with the narrow end at the top and bottom of the panel and slightly overlapping the wide end in the center. They are stamped with Calypso Coral Ink, Pear Pizzazz Ink, Bumblebee Ink and Misty Moonlight Ink. This color combination is so pretty! I added the “Celebrate” sentiment from the Create With Friends Stamp Set and the ink splatter image from Textures & Frames with Tuxedo Black Ink. The greeting on the inside is from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set. Portions of the brushstroke were added to the bottom edge of the inside of the card and to the bottom edge of the envelope. One dot from the paint spatter image was added inside, next to the sentiment.

Card 2 – Stepped Up

The Paper Cuts

  • Calypso Coral Cardstock: 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″ (base)
  • Basic Black Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (front panel) and label die cut from Seasonal Labels Dies with the coordinating slits for the ends.
  • Basic White Cardstock: 5″ x 3 3/4″ (front panel) and 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside panel)

The Creating

The stripes and inside panel are the same as for Card 1. The “Celebrate” sentiment is stamped with VersaMark Ink onto the Seasonal Label die cut, sprinkled with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (excess tapped off) and melted with the Heat Tool. Two 4″ pieces of Glittered Organdy Ribbon were slipped through the side slits die cut into the label and taped to the back of the panel before being adhered to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The label is supported with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Matte Black Dots were added with the putty end of the Take Your Pick Tool. The Calypso Coral card base give a little extra layer of color on the inside.

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream Birthday Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream Photopolymer Stamp Set from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog for this card. It is a clean and simple card with cardstock, ink and a little fussy cutting. Don’t worry, it’s quick and easy fussy cutting! Enjoy!

The popsicle colors were inspired by the Sunday Stamps Weekly Challenge: SSC263 BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS. This week is a color challenge requiring a minimum of 3 colors from the graphic below and a neutral of choice. I chose Soft Succulent, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Blackberry Bliss and Garden Green with Soft Suede as my neutral. Why not use them all?

    The Paper Cuts

    • Basic White Thick Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 11″, scored at 4 1/4″ (card base)
    • Basic White Cardstock: 4 3/4″ x 3 5/8″ (stamped front panel) and 4″ x 3 1/2″ (fussy cutting)
    • Pumpkin Pie Cardstock: 5″ x 3 7/8″
    • Soft Succulent Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ (front panel)

    The Creating

The popsicles are made with 4 stamps: the bottom half (straight edge), the top half (rounded edge), the scattered dots image and the popsicle stick. I stamped a row of popsicles across the Basic White front panel in Real Red Ink, Blackberry Bliss Ink and Garden Green Ink. The popsicle sticks are in Soft Suede Ink. Tip: It’s not hard to line the stick up on the popsicle since the stamps are clear, but I did make a mask to ensure I got the popsicle stick the same length and in the same location since the popsicles are in a row. On the Basic White for fussy cutting I stamped a popsicle in Soft Succulent Ink and in Pumpkin Pie Ink along with the Happy Birthday Sentiment in Soft Suede Ink. I fussy cut them with my Paper Snips.

On the inside of the card I stamped a popsicle in Real Red Ink and the Treat Yourself sentiment in Soft Suede. I stamped a popsicle in Blackberry Bliss Ink on the front of the envelope.

I adhered the cardstock layers to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I popped the two fussy cut popsicles on with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tip: Cut a strip from the edge of the Stampin’ Dimensionals for the popsicle sticks. The fussy cut sentiment has a Stampin’ Dimensionals under the “B” and liquid glue on either side. A few Holiday Basic Rhinestone Jewels were added with the putty tip of the Take Your Pick Tool.

Thank you for stopping by. If you have any questions or need a catalog, I’d be very happy to be your Demonstrator.   You can drop me an email at stampdabbles@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you!

Stampin’ Up! Batik Boutique Simple Stamping Notecards

I used the Batik Boutique Stamp Set and the Create With Friends Stamp Set to make these two notecards. It’s really the same card just embellished in two different ways. The stamping is simple, quick and easy with the Two Step color fill. Enjoy!

    The Paper Cuts

    • Bumblebee Cardstock: Both card bases are 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″.
    • Basic White Cardstock: The top card has two 5 1/4″ x 4″ panels (inside and front). The bottom card has a 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ front panel and a 5 1/4″ x 4″ inside panel.
    • Misty Moonlight Cardstock: The bottom card has a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ front layer.

    The Creating

The sentiments, large flower outlines, and small flower dotted circle accents are stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink. The floral fill and small flowers are stamped in Bumblebee Ink and the leaf fill and small leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz Ink. The small flower leaves are the same stamp as the leaf color fill for the big flowers.

The large flower and fill is repeated on the inside panel and on the envelope.

To assemble the cards I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to adhere the panels to the card bases. I added the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon to the bottom of the top card with Mini Glue Dots on the backside before adhering.

To embellish the bottom card, I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels colored with a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.

Which one do you like best? I couldn’t decide so I decided to post them both!

If you have any questions or need a catalog, I’d be very happy to be your Demonstrator.   You can drop me an email at stampdabbles@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you!

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Simply Stamped Friend Card

Tonight’s card is simply stamped friendship card using the Forever Fern stamp set along with a matching envelope. Enjoy!

    The Paper

    • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and a 5 1/4 x 4″ panel
    • Whisper White Medium Envelope

    The Creating

I started by stamping the sentiment in the center of the white panel in Tuxedo Black ink. I then covered it with a 1″ strip of computer paper securing it on the back with washi tape to prevent it from slipping. I also used the rest of the computer paper to cover the lower portion of the card (below the 1″ strip) if needed.

I used 4 different leaf images and 4 different shades of green. I inked each leaf in a color and stamped it on the top, rotated the card and repeated. I also stamped them on the envelope front and flap. I added the spatter image in 2nd Generation with the 4 colors on the card front and the envelope.

I removed the 1″ strip and adhered the decorated panel to the card front. I added 3 gems from the Flowers for Every Season Gems by placing a dot of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive on the card where it was to go and adding the gem on top.

Thank you for stopping by. Please email me at stampdabbles@gmail.com with any questions or if I can be of assistance with your stamping creativity. I hope you will give this set a go…you won’t regret it!

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Poppies Suite Cards

It’s no wonder Peaceful Poppies Suite is most popular in the January – June 2020 Mini Catalog. It is gorgeous and oh so easy to create with. Tonight I made two cards featuring just the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and sentiments from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. You will also notice that I adjusted the sentiments to fit the spaces where I wanted them. More on that below. Enjoy!

    Card 1 Cutting

    • Old Olive Card Base: 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
    • Whisper White Card Front: 4″ x 5 1/4″
    • Real Red Cardstock: 2 3/8″ x 5 1/2″
    • Peaceful Poppies DSP: 2 1/8″ x 5 1/4″

    The Technique

I wanted the Thank You sentiment to fit in the blank area to the right of the DSP so I used a Masking technique to split it to two lines. Once I placed the stamp on the block, I used the sticky part of a Post It Note (or Washi Tape) to cover “You”. I inked the stamp in Tuxedo Black Ink, removed the Post It Note and stamped just the “Thank’ on the card front. Repeat for the second line. I will warn you, the hardest part is to remember to remove the Post It (with the ink on it) from the Stamp before you go to your paper. I don’t know why that is, but it is.

    Card 1 Inside

    • Peaceful Poppies DSP Strip: 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
    • Whisper White Cardstock: 3 7/16″ x 5 1/4
    • Same technique for the sentiment.

    Card 2 Cutting

    • Whisper White Cardbase: 4 1/4″ x 11 scored at 5 1/2″
    • Basic Black Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″
    • Peaceful Poppies DSP: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
    • Whisper White Tag die cut from the Painted Labels Dies

    Card 2 Inside

    • Old Olive Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″
    • Peaceful Poppies DSP Stip: 1/8″ x 5 1/8″
    • Whisper White Cardstock: 3 5/8″ x 5 1/8″

    Adhesive and Embellishment

There are three (3) Peaceful Poppies Sequins adhered to the front of each card using Mini Glue DOTS. The layers were adhered with Snail with the exception of the small DSP strip on Card 2 which required Liquid Adhesive.

Stampin’ Up! Simple Stamping Valentine’s Card

My husband likes to get my handmade (for him) cards, but he isn’t really impressed with a lot of frills, bells and whistles. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, this card was made with him in mind. He’s not afraid of red hearts and I added the black for masculine appeal. Simple…no die cutting, glitter, or embossing. Here’s how it happened…

I began with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock scored at 5 1/2″. I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black and the hearts from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set (2 first generation and a second generation) in Real Red Ink on a piece of 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I back it with a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic Black Cardstock with Liquid Glue.

On the inside I stamped the Happy Valentine’s Day heart from the Heartfelt Stamp Set (the one in the Forever Lovely set was too tiny for this purpose) in Real Red Ink. To add the black scallop I punched a heart from a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock with the “straight edge” punch from the Heart Punch Pack (this I tossed into my reserve stash) and then punched the “scallop edge” to allow me to align the two front visual. I’m pleased with how that tired out. So, no frills, bells or whistles so I added a simple 1/2″ strip of Real Red Cardstock to the bottom.

I decided Mr Man could handle three (3) Holiday Basic Rhinestone Jewels on the front…skipped the Wink of Stella though. 😉 Links to the supplies used are listed below. Thanks for joining me. Please comment or send me an email if you have an questions or if I can be of help.
