Paper Pumpkin Something for Everything Alternatives – Final

Thank you for sticking with me for multiple Paper Pumpkin Alternative posts. Tonight will be the final one, although as you will see at the end, I still have a good quantity of supplies left. Enough to make the 3 included cards or 6-7 alternatives. It’s a great value at $22 a kit and includes a stamp set and ink that can continue to be used. Tomorrow is a great time to subscribe (you have to the 10th of the month prior to the kit you want) because Sale-A-Bration begins and there are free, exclusive items for every $50 retail spent. More on that tomorrow!

I started with the 3 kit cards cut in half and then added card bases (Whisper White and Crushed Curry), a little dry embossing (Woodland and Scripty folders), die cutting (Stitched Shapes Dies) the Triple Banner Punch (2″ strips) and a little ink (Old Olive and Shaded Spruce).

The side strips on cards 3 and 4 are just left over 1/4″ strips that were trimmed from the original card front/back. The gold accent pieces on card 6 are the leftover pieces left on the release paper after the gold swirly image was peeled up.

On the insides, additional 1/4″ strips were used. The gold on card 6 was trimmed from the edge of the gold sticker sheet with the Paper Trimmer.

These are the supplies still left. I still have plenty left to make the 3 kit cards or 6-7 alternatives.

So far, that’s 17 cards. A little more than $1. 30 a card. And, I love that I’m stocked and ready to go with birthday, sympathy, and thank you cards. No driving to the store and paying a lot. And they turned out beautiful! I hope it’s inspired you to be creative. That’s what Paper Pumpkin is for me….creativity in a box! There are links at the bottom to guide you to the subscription information. If you have any questions about the subscription or the cards, please feel free to contact me at stampdabbles@gmail.com. If you prefer a real, live voice conversation just email me your number and I’ll give you a call.

Paper Pumpkin Something for Everything Alternatives

Here are two more alternative designs using the December Paper Pumpkin Kit called Something for Everything. My goals were to: 1) use the flower stamp from the stamp set and 2)make easy designs for beginner stampers. Thanks for joining in and I hope you enjoy the cards.

I started with the cute 3-flower stamp and decided to use it for a background.

  • I added a Whisper White card base and 3.75″ x 2″ scrap.
  • I used Crushed Curry Ink because I had a left over Crushed Curry Rectangle Die Cut on my desk that fit the design well. You could just as easily use the TerraCotta Tile Ink and a straight cut rectangle using the TerraCotta side of an included card.
  • I stamped the flower image and the happy birthday in first and second generations randomly.
  • I used a round flat make-up brush to add some ink to the edges of the cards, blending into the center of the Whisper White pieces.
  • I colored the Whisper White Polka Dot Ribbon by pulling it across the Crushed Curry Ink Pad.
  • The 3 raised flowers were fussy cut and adhered with half Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment layer is also raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I added the small Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to the flower centers because I wanted something smaller than the ones that came with the kit, but you could use them.

The inside message is stamped first generation and the flowers second generation.

  • I added a Whisper White card base and a 2″ strip of Crushed Curry Designer Series Paper for this card. The polka dot paper is from the patterned half of a card in the kit and it is also 2″. Both are punched on one end with the Triple Banner Punch.
  • The green circle, rhinestones and banner tag are from the kit.
  • The banner tag is raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Minimal pieces used for these two cards. I know there is more Stampin’ FUN in store.

Paper Pumpkin Something for Everything Alternatives – 2 for 1 Cards

I like the idea of making my products stretch as far as they can go. Quite frankly, it’s a necessity at this point. Even though I am a seasoned stamper and creative coach, I am new to Stampin’ Up! Before September, 99% of my products were from another company. I am impressed with the designs and quality of Stampin’ Up! and am grateful to be able to share them with you. Tonight’s projects are two cards with the supplies used to make one card featured in the kit.

Card 1 – Two for One

The card made with the kit instruction is on the left. The supplies being added are on the right. The items from the kit that will be used are below them. I switched the papers on this one and the last one, using the floral instead of the yellow polka dot. Note: I decided not to use the Gold Fold corners.

  • I added a Crushed Curry Card Base and a Cajun Craze Card Base.
  • I added a 4 x 5.25″ Crushed Curry piece that I sprayed with Shimmer Spray and Embossed with the Scripty Embossing Folder.
  • I added Cajun Craze Bakers Twine from the Come Together Ribbon combo pack with Glue Dots. This ribbon is on the Year End Closeout until January 2nd while supplies last. Hurry if you want it.
  • I cut the TerraCotta piece to 4 x 5.25″.
  • I cut the Floral Piece to 3″, 1″, .25″, .75″ and 1/2″.
  • On the top card the sentiment and the flowers are raised on dimensional.
  • On the bottom card, the floral panel and the flowers are raised on dimensionals.

Card 2 – Two for One

This design layout was inspired by Chelsey Christensen. She chose to do a fun fold you can check out on YouTube with Creative Chelsey. I just wanted to keep it simple stamping.

  • I added two Whisper White Card Bases,
  • two Crushed Curry strips of cardstock at 5×1.50″ and
  • two Old Olive strips at 5.25×2″ and 5×2″.
  • Note: I decided to use the entire yellow polka dot Paper Pumpkin geometric piece instead of cutting it in half.
  • I cut the two card pieces to 4×5.25″ and then diagonal from corner to corner by lining them up on the cutting line of the paper trimmer.
  • I cut the gold sticker in half.
  • I used the Triple Banner to trim the ends of the cardstock strips.
  • The sentiments are stamped in Shaded Spruce (last month’s Paper Pumpkin ink) and are raised with dimensionals.

Card 3 – Two for One

  • I added two Old Olive Card Bases,
  • I only used 1/2 of the green polka dot circle
  • I used an additional two small flowers, and
  • I added 5 rhinestones.
  • I trimmed the two pieces of the card to 4×5.25″. Then cut each at 2″.
  • I added two Old Olive carsick strips at 4×1″.
  • I trimmed the gold floral sticker with berries into two pieces and added to the back of the half circle with some overhanging the front.
  • The flowers and sentiments on both are raised with dimensionals.
  • The solid yellow piece on the top car is embossed with the Scripty Embossing Folder.

There are still LOTS of supplies left. Sound like more Stampin’ FUN to be had! Stay tuned.
