Stampin’ Up! Still Scenes Snowy Embossed Card

I saw a neat technique over at Connie Stewart’s Simply Stamping. She used clear packing tape to adhere glitter for a card front. I had to give it a try and so should you! It’s an easy, creative way to add a little sparkle. Have fun!

THE CUTTING

  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ for the card base.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 x 5 1/4″ for the front layer, 2 1/2″ x 1 1/4″ for the front tag and 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside layer. A 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ scrap for the house scene.
  • Wrapped In Plaid DSP: 3″ x 5 1/4″ and a 1/2″ x 4″ strip for the inside.

THE CREATING

  • Stamp the Still Scene house in VersaMark on the scrap white paper. Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. Color the image with the Stampin’ Blends. Apply Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the snowy areas: tree, bush, roof and yard. Puff with the Heat Tool.
  • Die Cut the Still Scenes image and the Rectangle Stitched label (2 3/8″).
  • Use the Scripty Embossing Folder to emboss the white front layer.
  • I stamped “PEACE” from the November Paper Pumpkin Kit in Shaded Spruce centered on the white label. You could use another message of your choice.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White inside layer in Shaded Spruce. You can use a sentiment of your choice. I used one from the Christmas Rose Stamp Set.
  • Punch the 2 1/4″ circle from the bottom third of the DSP.

The Technique

  • Tear off a piece of clear packing tape the size of the circle. Fit the die cut house scene inside the circle in the desired position. It will go on top of the tape. Adhere the tape to the back of the DSP strip and the house scene.
  • Apply the Ice Stampin’ Glitter to the tape and pressing it in to secure it well. TIP: I use a piece of computer paper folded in half and opened again under my card to catch the excess which can then easily be poured back into your container for future use.
  • I adhered the dry embossed layer to the card and the white tag to the DSP with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise the DSP layer. I adhered the inside layers with the liquid adhesive.

Stampin’ Up! Simple Sprigs and Script

Tonight I paired a sentiment from the Still Scenes stamp set with the images from Christmas Rose and the Scripty embossing folder to create this simply stamped card. Enjoy!

THE CUTTING

  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ for the card and 2″ x 5 1/4″ for embossing.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the inside and 5 1/4″ x 2″ for the front.
  • Glitter Gold Ribbon: 15″

THE CREATING

  • Use the Big Shot and the 3D Scripty Fold with the 3D embossing plate to emboss the strip of Cherry Cobbler. Tip: Use a spritzer to apply water mist to the paper for an enhanced impression. It’s hard to see in the photos, but I used Wink of Stella on for a little shine on the raised script.
  • Stamp the medium pine sprig image from the Christmas Rose stamp set in Garden Green (2 first generation and a partial 2nd generation).
  • Add the corresponding berries in Cherry Cobbler and the pine cones in Soft Suede.
  • I used the Season Greetings sentiment from the Still Scenes stamp set in Cherry Cobbler on the left side. It nestled perfectly in the sprigs.
  • I applied 3 Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots in the right corner.
  • I applied both panels to the card base with Snail Adhesive.
  • I cut a slit slightly larger than 1/4″ into the spine of the card where the two panels met. I thread the ribbon through and tied in a bow on the card front. I used a few mini glue dots to prevent the ribbon from sliding.
  • On the white inside panel I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Rose in Cherry Cobbler. I added a pine sprig and pine cone in Garden Green and Soft Suede.
  • I adhered the panel to the card with Snail Adhesive.

Stampin’ Up! Toile Tidings

I have to admit it. I’m a classic girl. I love the traditional toile, font and sentiment on this card. While I used sentiments from the Still Scenes stamp set, you could use the ones in the Christmas Rose. I just happen to own them both. Enjoy!

THE CUTTING

  • Garden Green Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ for the card
  • Real Red Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ and a 3″ x 2 1/4″ piece to die cut the sentiment frame from the Christmas Rose Bundle.
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the inside and a 3″ x 2 1/4″ piece to die cut the sentiment frame from the Christmas Rose Bundle.
  • Toile Tidings DSP: 5″ x 3 3/4″ and a 1″ x 4″ strip for the inside.
  • Real Red Ruched Ribbon: 5 1/2″

THE CREATING

  • I stamped Merry Christmas from the Christmas Rose stamp set in Garden Green onto the Very Vanilla die cut
  • I stamped the sentiment from the Still Scenes stamp set on the Very Vanilla inside with Garden Green Ink.
  • I used Liquid Adhesive to adhere the Toile Tiding DSP to the Real Red Cardstock. I added 3 Glue Dots to the ribbon (each end and the center). A applied the center in the center fo the DSP and folded the ends to the back to secure it.
  • Use scissors or trimmer to cut the Real Red die in half. Adhere a piece on either side of the ribbon evenly across from each other with Liquid Adhesive.
  • Apply the Very Vanilla tag to the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tip: I found I needed a half of one under each tip in addition to the 4 that I spaced more toward the center in a square.
  • I applied 3 Holiday Red Sparkles.
  • I liquid glued the DSP strip to the bottom of the inside Very Vanilla.

Polar Bear Express Card

An Inkin’ Krew teammate, Aikiko, inspired me to use the Night Before Christmas Cards and Envelopes to create tonight’s card. I called it Polar Bear Express because of the cute polar bear die cuts and the fact that the card is so quick to make. Enjoy!

THE CUTTING

  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock: 6″ x 4″ for the inside of the card
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock: 1 3/4″ circle from Stitched Shapes, 2 baby bears and 1 momma bear from scraps with the Still Scenes dies.
  • Shaded Spruce Cardstock: 2 sets of trees from the Still Scenes dies

THE CREATING

  • I stamped Merry Christmas from the To Every Season stamp set in Cherry Cobbler onto the round die cut (the moon)
  • I stamped the message from the Still Scenes stamp set on the Cherry Cobbler cardstock with Versamark Ink, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.
  • I used a small paintbrush to apply Frost White Shimmer Paint to the edges fo the Tree die cuts. Tip: Be sure to wash your paintbrush out immediately as it will dry quick.
  • I adhered the stitched circle, trees on the right (even caught a star for one) and the card inside with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • I adhered the trees on the left and baby bears with Stampin’ Diminsionals and Mini Dimensional (cut in half where necessary). Tip: apply the dimensional the the legs only of the baby bears and liquid adhesive to the top so they are level on top of the left tree cluster which is on dimensional.

Stampin’ Up! Still Scenes Shaker Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Still Scenes Bundle to create this fun shaker card. The dies and shaker inserts make it super easy.

THE CUTTING

  • Whisper White Card Base – 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″
  • Whisper White Card Front – 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Whisper White for Stamping/Die Cutting – 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
  • Feels Like Frost DSP Layer – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Silver Foil Sheet for Die Cutting – 6″ x 1 1/2″
  • Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon – 4″

THE STEPS

  • Stamp the house scene using VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with Silver Embossing Powder. Heat emboss using the Heat Embossing Tool. Color the image using stamping blends. Use the matching die to cut the image out with the Big Shot. Add Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the rooftop, trees, bushes and ground. Use Heat Tool to puff.
  • Die Cut the trio of trees on the remainder of the white cardstock. Use a sponge dauber to apply Frost White Shimmer Paint randomly.
  • Use the snow globe die to cut 3/4″ from the top, centered, on the Whisper White Card Front Layer with the Big Shot. Use the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder through the Big Shot to add the texture.
  • Die cut the snow globe base and snow globe embellishment from the Silver Foil.
  • Tie the ribbon in a knot and trim ends as needed.

THE FINISH

  • With Snail Adhesive, adhere the Feels Like Frost DSP Layer to the Card Front.
  • Insert (do not peel the release paper yet) the Snow Globe Shaker Dome into the white die cut embossed layer and position on the from of your card. Holding the dome in place, remove the embossed layer and use a pencil to mark the left, right and bottom edges (don’t worry, they will be covered) as a guide to adhere the other die cuts.
  • Peel release paper from the top of the Snow Globe Shaker Dome, insert it into the hole in the embossed layer and press well around the dome.
  • Use Tombow Liquid Adhesive to adhere the die cut trio of trees and house scene to the Feels Like Frost DSP Layer (be sure to get close to the edges to prevent your filler from getting under them) between your pencil marks. Give it a minute to dry and then add a 1/2 teaspoon of Snowflake Sequins and 1/2 teaspoon of Ice Stampin’ Glitter in the center of the house scene.
  • Remove the release paper from the back of the Snow Globe Shaker Dome and apply Tombow Liquid Adhesive to the edge of the white embossed layer. Apply onto the Feels Like Frost DSP Layer. Press firmly around the dome with bone folder.
  • Use snail to adhere the foil base under the dome. Use balled up mini glue dots on the larger areas to adhere the decorative snow globe base (liquid glue does not adhere to the silver foil well).
  • Use a mini glue dot on the back of the ribbon knot to adhere the bow.
I promise that’s silver embossing and paper strip. Just losing my lighting from the day.
