Stampin’ Up! Jar of Flowers Thinking of You Card

Here is a sneak peak of what’s inside the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. This card used the Jar of Flowers and Many Mates stamp sets which will be available for customers to order on June 3rd. It also used the new 2020-2022 In Color Misty Moonlight Cardstock and 6×6 DSP. The inspiration for the design is on page 10 of the catalog. Enjoy!

The Paper Cuts

  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″ and a 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″ panel.
  • 2020-2022 In Color DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and a 3/4″ x 5″ strip
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 3 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Shaded Spruce Cardstock: 2 1/8″ x 5/8″ scrap

The Creating

  • Adhere te DSP panel to the card front.
  • Stamp the floral image in Tuxedo Black on the Whisper White 3 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ panel. Also stamp it on a PostIt Note catching the sticky edge at the bottom. Trim around the bottom edge on the black stamped line. This will be your mask. It will make the flowers look like they are inside the jar instead of the jar on top of the flowers when you stamp the jar 😉
  • Stamp the jar in Basic Gray Ink with the mask in place as shown above. (I first tried Tuxedo Black, but it came out very dark and I wanted it to be lighter since it is glass).
  • Add the flower stem image with Basic Gray Ink with the mask still in place. Now you can remove it! Taadaa!
  • Color the flower and stems with Stampin’ Blends Combos: Light Seaside Spray, Flirty Flamingo and Call Me Clover. I also used Light Smoky Slate in layers with Light Call Me Clover and Light Seaside Spray for the sprig that looks like Eucalyptus. Don’t be afraid to mix colors 🙂
  • Add Wink of Stella to the reflection marks on the jar.
  • Adhere the colored floral panel to the Misty Moonlight panel.
  • Tie a piece of the Flowers for Every Season Twine around the two panels and tie in a bow. I knotted the end to ensure the three layers didn’t untwist (as in the catalog). Adhere to the DSP on the card front.
  • Rub the Shaded Spruce scrap with the Embossing Buddy to prevent static. Stamp with the sentiment in VersaMark, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.
  • Adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Trim if necessary.
  • Add 3 Flowers for Every Season Gems with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the inside panel with Misty Moonlight Ink and adhere to the inside of the cards. Adhere the DSP strip to the bottom edge.

Stampin’ Up! Free As A Bird Card

Tonight is my first night to play with the Free As A Bird Bundle. I have been tempted for a year. It has beautiful imagery and sentiments and the dies are awesome! It will carry over to the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, but it will no longer be bundled with the 10% discount so I decided to indulge. I’m so glad I did. If you like it too, be sure to click the link below and purchase it by June 2nd. Enjoy!

The Paper Cuts

  • Seaside Spray Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″ and a 5 1/4″ x 4″ panel for embossing.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: Largest Die from the Stitched Nested Dies and a 5 1/4″ x 4″ panel for the inside.

The Creating

  • With Tuxedo Black Ink stamp:
    • the bird image and the sentiment on the Nested Label Die
    • the sentiment and leaves on the inside panel
    • the leaves on the envelope
  • Use Stampin’ Blend Combos to color the images: Seaside Spray, Soft Suede, Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive.
  • Emboss the Layered Leaves on the Seaside Spray panel. Adhere it to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Loop Linen Thread in a circular pattern on the card front. When you have it as desired, apply a little Snail Adhesive on the left and right where the threads will stick to it.
  • Apply the Nested Label over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Adhere the inside panel with Snail or Liquid Adhesive.

Stampin’ Up! Forever Lovely – Old Meets New Card

Forever Lovely is the bundle that sold me on die cutting and launched me into stamping again (after 9 years). It is retiring this year and I will miss it. Here I’ve paired it with a long, straight greeting from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set. When I first got this set I made it repeatedly in multiple colors and greetings. It works great for any occasion.

The Cuts

  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Lovely Lipstick Cardstock (retiring): 5 1/4″ x 4″ cut in half at 2″, a 3 1/2″ x 1/4″ strip and a Rose Die.

The Creating

  • Die Cut the Floral image centered and lined up along one long edge of each of the 2″ panels. Tip: Use Washi Tape or Post It Flags to hold the dies in place.
  • Use the Take Your Pick Tool with the Brush Tip on top of the Foam Mat to remove the tiny pieces from this intricate die. Tip: leave the die cut in the metal die when placing on the mat. It supports the die cut and makes the pieces easy to brush out.
  • Use snips or your Paper Trimmer track to slice from the outer edge to the die cut edge.
  • Place the Whisper White card base into the Stamparatus. Dry fit the two panels on the card front giving an equal border around the edges. Position your sentiment on the card and pick it up with the plate. Remove the 2 panels. Ink with Lovely Lipstick Ink and stamp to the card base. Repeat if necessary.
  • Use Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to adhere the two panels to the card front.
  • Add Pearl Basic Jewels where desired.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick Ink (retiring) on the inside of the card. Add the rose to the lower corner.
  • Adhere the die cut rose and the Lovely Lipstick strip to the inside of the card. I like how this brought the solid cardstock from the outside to the inside.

This stamp set, cardstock and ink are going to go away June 2 with the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. Get them with supplies last.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need Stampin’ Up! Catalogs. FYI, the new one has been released to Demonstrators and will be available to Customers June 2nd. I can’t wait for you to see it!

Stampin’ Up! Soft Spring Simply Stamped Card

When I made the card for my last post (you can see it here) it took 3 tries before I didn’t have one that was smudged somehow. Do you ever have those days? Anyway, today when I sat down one was laying on my desk and it just had a little bitty bit of purple ink on the edge. I trimmed it off (less than 1/16″ – no one will know but y’all) and the card was saved. I decided to keep it simple. Enjoy! (Oh, and if you want to know what happened to the other attempt, I scooted the Stamparatus and the unstamped side of the card also scooted…across my open Tuxedo Black Ink Pad.)

The Cuts

  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Best Dressed DSP: 2 1/2″ x 1 1/4″ Scallop Die from Stitched So Sweetly, a 4″ x 1/2″ strip and a 5 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ for the env flap

The Creating

  • Stamp the floral image and the dragonfly (don’t forget the one on the envelope) with Tuxedo Black Ink. Fill in the flower color with Gorgeous Grape and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz.
  • Use a light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend to lightly add color to the base.
  • Stamp the sentiment (this one is from Peaceful Moments) in Gorgeous Grape on the die cut rectangle. Pop up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Use Wink of Stella to “watercolor” the dragonfly with the Gorgeous Grape and Pear Pizzazz Ink. So pretty!
  • Add Noble Peacock Rhinestones in Gorgeous Grape.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the inside (mine is from Ornate Thanks) in Gorgeous Grape Ink.
  • Add the small strip of DSP to the bottom edge of the inside with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Apply Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the Envelope flap and apply the larger strip of DSP. Use your snips to trim around the edges.

Use the May Host Code for free gifts from me (if your order is $150 or more you don’t want to use it so that you get Hostess Rewards). See my Rewards Page for full details.

This stamp set and the Designer Series Paper are going to go away June 2 with the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. Get them with supplies last. Ask me how you can get the Soft Spring set (it’s a Host set).

Stampin’ Up! Soft Spring Forever Lovely Card

Many are experiencing frustrations and various difficulties being separated during this Pandemic. Our Sunday school class decided to help each other encourage elderly parents and neighbors who are experiencing anxiety from living alone and being isolated. This card is going to a fellow member’s grandmother to let them know that they are being remembered and prayed for. I’m sure it will not only encourage the grandmother, but also my fellow SS member. I hope you’ll consider sharing a card with someone, too!

The Cuts

  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5 1/2″
  • Old Olive Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″

The Creating

  • Cut a Rectangle Stitched Die (3 15/16″ x 2 5/8″) from the Old Olive Cardstock layer (save for another project). Stamp the dragonfly in black ink. Position this piece on the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Big Shot.
  • Put the Whisper White open cardstock on the Stamparatus with the Foam Mat in place and secure with the magnet. Lay the embossed panel on top as if it were adhered and place the floral stamp face down in the rectangle. Pick it up with the Stamparatus plate. Remove the embossed panel, ink the stamp with black ink and close the lid. If your impression is not good you can re-ink and stamp again.
  • Repeat with the flower stamp in Gorgeous Grape and the leaves in Pear Pizzazz.
  • Flip the card over repeat the Stamparatus process with the greeting, dragonfly and floral image all at once. Then add the purple flowers and green leaves.
  • Add the floral images to the envelope.
  • Adhere the embossed panel with Foam Adhesive Strips.
  • Add Wink of Stella to the dragonfly wings.

Stampin’ Up! Honey Bee Spinner Card

Tonight I made a spinner card using the Honey Bee stamp set, coordinating Dies and DSP. It’s the first time I’ve made one…so cool!

Dimensions:

  • Thick Whisper White: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Golden Honey Specialty DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Crushed Curry: Hive Die
  • Whisper White: 3 Bee Dies, Flower Die and Sentiment
  • Basic Black: 2 Scallop Circle Dies & Sentiment Layer

Details:

  • Glue the DSP to the card front.
  • Score the front at 2 3/4″ and burnish.
  • Use the Layered Circle Dies to cut the next to largest straight edge circle in the center of the score line.
  • Use the largest Scallop Die to cut two from Basic Black.
  • Stamp two large bees, one small bee, and a flower on Whisper White with Tuxedo Black Ink. Stamp the bee hive on to Crushed Curry with Crushed Curry Ink.
  • Color with Dark Daffodil Stampin’ Blend.
  • Add wink of Stella to the 2 large bees.
  • Use coordinating Dies to cut out stamped images.
  • Cut a piece of Silver Metallic Thread that will traverse the opening in the Circle Die Cut.
  • Apply liquid glue to the back of one large bee, lay the thread in the center and apply the other large bee, sandwiching the thread.
  • Apply liquid glue to one of the scallop frames. Lay the bee in the center and stretch the thread across so that the ends are in the glue. Apply the other scallop circle and pull the thread taught.
  • Apply liquid glue along the bottom edge of the circle cut in the card front (below the score line only). Center the scallop frame over it so that the bottom of it is adhered to the bottom of the opening.
  • Stamp Hello in the top left corner.
  • Adhere the flower to the lower left corner.
  • Use dimensional to adhere the bee hive to the inside. This will be the stop for the easel portion, so test to see where you would like it to sit. Also check out what it will look like behind the bee when the card is flat.
  • Adhere the sentiment and layer below and the small bee with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You will also want to make sure these two things are below the opening in the front so they don’t show when closed.

I hope you enjoyed tonight’s card. Thank you for stopping by.

Please let me know if you have any questions. If you do not have a demonstrator I would love to send you the Annual Catalog, Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Brochures. Just email me at stampdabbles@gmail.com.

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala Thinking of You Card

I am part of a committee working on a Ladies Retreat in April. The theme is Seeking God Together with a focus on Spiritual Direction. We are using the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar to represent spiritual development from Arrival to Chrysalis (stillness) to Butterfly (God sightings). So tonight I am playing with the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. This card was cased from a UK Demonstrator named Linda Parker at papercraftwithcrafty.co.uk.

The butterfly image (be careful just to ink the large one), it’s body and the antennae are stamped on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White Cardstock in Tuxedo Black. It is backed with a piece of Basic Black Cardstock cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″. The Lovely Lipstick Card Base is 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.

I stamped a butterfly and body on a scrap of Lovely Lipstick Cardstock and punched it out with the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch. I scored on either side of the body for a fold line to lift the wings. It is adhered with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

I wet embossed the “You’ve Been on My Mind” using VersaMark Ink and White Embossing Powder melted with the Heat Tool on a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock. I trimmed it down and used the Triple Punch to banner one end.

The inside message from the same set is stamped in Lovely Lipstick Ink with Tuxedo black butterflies on Whisper White and Basic Black that are the same sizes as the card front layers. I thought about leaving off the black layers, but they really make the card pop.

I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels for extra bling and yet keeping the black and white neutral background with the butterfly as the star.

Please let me know if you have any questions. If you do not have a demonstrator I would love to send you the new catalog and Sale-a-bration brochure. Just email me at stampdabbles@gmail.com.
