Stampin’ Up! Still Scenes Snowy Embossed Card

I saw a neat technique over at Connie Stewart’s Simply Stamping. She used clear packing tape to adhere glitter for a card front. I had to give it a try and so should you! It’s an easy, creative way to add a little sparkle. Have fun!

THE CUTTING

  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ for the card base.
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 4 x 5 1/4″ for the front layer, 2 1/2″ x 1 1/4″ for the front tag and 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside layer. A 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ scrap for the house scene.
  • Wrapped In Plaid DSP: 3″ x 5 1/4″ and a 1/2″ x 4″ strip for the inside.

THE CREATING

  • Stamp the Still Scene house in VersaMark on the scrap white paper. Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. Color the image with the Stampin’ Blends. Apply Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the snowy areas: tree, bush, roof and yard. Puff with the Heat Tool.
  • Die Cut the Still Scenes image and the Rectangle Stitched label (2 3/8″).
  • Use the Scripty Embossing Folder to emboss the white front layer.
  • I stamped “PEACE” from the November Paper Pumpkin Kit in Shaded Spruce centered on the white label. You could use another message of your choice.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White inside layer in Shaded Spruce. You can use a sentiment of your choice. I used one from the Christmas Rose Stamp Set.
  • Punch the 2 1/4″ circle from the bottom third of the DSP.

The Technique

  • Tear off a piece of clear packing tape the size of the circle. Fit the die cut house scene inside the circle in the desired position. It will go on top of the tape. Adhere the tape to the back of the DSP strip and the house scene.
  • Apply the Ice Stampin’ Glitter to the tape and pressing it in to secure it well. TIP: I use a piece of computer paper folded in half and opened again under my card to catch the excess which can then easily be poured back into your container for future use.
  • I adhered the dry embossed layer to the card and the white tag to the DSP with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise the DSP layer. I adhered the inside layers with the liquid adhesive.

Stampin’ Up! Pine and Plaid

Tonights card is straight up, simple stamping using the Christmas Rose stamp set. I paired it with the Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper. Enjoy!

THE CUTTING

  • Whisper White Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ for the card; 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ for stamping on front; 1 7/8″ x 1 1/4″ for sentiment.
  • Wrapped in Plaid DSP: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ and a 5 1/2″ x 5/8″ strip for the inside.
  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock: 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″ for the outside mat; 2″ x 1 3/8″ for the inside mat.

THE CREATING

  • I stamped the medium Pine Bough stamp (2 pine sprigs with spots for berries) from the Christmas Rose stamp set with Shaded Spruce ink around the edge of the card. I filled in occasionally with a second generation image.
  • I filled in the berries with the matching berry stamp from the same set in Cherry Cobbler ink.
  • I added the small pine cone in Soft Suede ink randomly.
  • I stamped both sentiments in Cherry Cobbler ink.
  • I adhered the layers with Snail Adhesive.
  • I added 3 red Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
